View PDF files stored on the website in the browser
Allow PDF (and other browser viewable files) to be viewed in the browser.
The Seattle Sea Kayaking Committee is storing minutes as PDF documents. When you click on the file name (blue) what happens depends on the browser you are using. Some browsers (Firefox) allows the user to choose to download or view in a browser window. Other browsers (Safari and Chrome on Mac) always download the file.
If I just want to view the file, having it downloaded to my computer is inconvenient. Now I must navigate to the downloaded file, open it, and later decide if I want…

Allow Rich Text Editing When Sending Email from the Website SD345
When sending email from the website, allow the use of simple rich text formatting (bold, italic, hyperlinks, etc.) and adding attachments when sending email from a roster or the carpool features on our website.

This request is technically possible and will be considered for prioritization if 1) it gains additional following or 2) can easily be added to a prioritized email change request. Show member/nonmember status on rosters
For courses/events that generate income, it would be helpful to the committee leadership if we could tell if a registered person is a member or nonmember when we look at the detailed roster. The reason...fee structure is different and we can more easily figure out how much income was generated without having to have staff pull the info for us (when they are already very busy).
It would also be helpful for activity leaders to know who the guests are (so we can talk more about the Mountaineers/other committees and entice them to join).
4 votesOn event and course rosters it is possible to see membership status and who is a guest under the "membership status" column or the ". However, activities do not show this information. Adding this to the activity roster is possible and will be considered for prioritization if 1) it gains additional following or 2) can easily be added to a prioritized roster change request. Allow Course Leaders/Admins to Edit Participant's Registration Datetime
Today, Leaders can edit the registration datetime for their Activities. This allows them to manage the waitlist order by changing the dates as needed. This idea is to allow the same functionality for Courses.

Only Allow Stewardship Committees to Post Stewardship Trips
Currently any committee leader can post a stewardship trip. Now that we have new stewardship standards that states stewardship trips must be posted by committees that are chartered to sponsor stewardship, can we update the website so that only leaders on stewardship committees can post stewardship trips.
At this time, any leader of any committee can post any type of trip but we see more instances of non-Stewardship chartered committee leaders, posting stewardship trips that do not align with stewardship standards.
3 votesHello All -
We explored what opportunities we have within the website and beyond to prevent Non-Stewardship committees from posting Stewardship trips. The website today does not restrict certain activity types for certain committees so we are unable to support this request as written. However, there are things we can do to better 1) educate leaders that Stewardship trips should be done only by Stewardship committees and 2) prevent future trips by finding and notifying past leaders who did not follow this guidance and 3) set up automated alerts and emails for when these situations occur to immediately address and take down the activity. Myself and Michelle are working through all three of these opportunities and will report back once complete!

Enable two committees (hiking and uran walks as an example) to jointly sponsor or offer a course, seminar, clinic or activity.
Enable the option of having multiple committees able to offer a course, seminar, clinic, event or activity. It would involve being able to use a template that includes both committees collaborating on a joint offering.

Exportable PDF Feedback Reports
BACKGROUND
I have the ability to see my feedback history. As a committee admin I have the ability to see a portion of the feedback history for anyone who has led a trip for my committee. I cannot see the feedback history for someone who has led trips for some other committee.
USE CASE
As a Leadership Chair for various committees (current and past) I review leadership applications. Often these prospective leaders are already leaders for another branch and/or committee. As part of the feedback gathering process, it is important for me as the Leadership Chair to gather as much…

Add profile link to roster
There is a companion issue that made names clickable in the roster on the website: https://feedback.mountaineers.org/forums/273688-general-feedback/suggestions/8764993-make-names-on-roster-open-their-profile-so-you-can
Here, I would like a column added to the CSV roster export with the link to someone's profile. There's currently a column for whether the profile is private or not, but no column with the actual profile link.
This would serve the same purpose as the clickable name. In Excel, it will detect that these are links and make them clickable. That makes it easier for me to navigate to someone's profile.

Pop-up/dialogue reminder to check information when re-submitting youth forms
When youth forms expire and are in need of renewal, all guardians have to do is re-save information in order for the form to be current for the next 365 days. For program participants who have been a part of programming for a year or two, and might have changing medical, dietary, or transportation needs, this means that information is often outdated when shared with program managers and staff. (For example, a participant who was 6 when the forms were filled out may have new diagnoses or updated dietary preferences when they are 12 that have not been reported out…

Add Address Verification Service
What: Consider adding an address checker to the website to help manage number of bad addresses (incorrect unit, missing zip code, etc). This tool could help us verify/correct postal addresses.
Why: Potentially important for decreasing amount of mail that is marked undeliverable and returned to the PC3 votesThis idea is moving to priority as we plan on testing out a new way to manage addresses within Salesforce to hopefully clean up addresses.

Provide Activity Feedback from participants/students to Asst. & Co- Leaders
After an activity participants are asked to provide feedback. This feedback loop is an important component of leadership development and allows leaders to learn how their approach is being received. However, Asst and Co-Leaders do not have access to this information and miss out on a valuable learning opportunity. For some, especially less experienced Asst Leaders, they may be tempted to emulate behavior they saw from a leader without the knowledge of how that was received by participants. In addition there may be comments, good or bad, about the Asst/Co- Leaders. Seems like not automatically sharing this with the entire…

Aggregate Lecture and Field Trip Feedback under Course
Courses are usually made of separate lecture and field trip activities to which students can provide feedback. To review all the feedback for the course , a person has to open all the activities. It would be nice to aggregate all of this feedback under the course and maybe course temple with which they are associated.

Phone Number Validation
I noticed in one of my activities that a member put their e-mail in the phone number field. This should not be allowed. Phone numbers should require validation to ensure that they satisfy the expected format.
3 votesThis item is moving to In-Progress and will be worked on in the next few weeks!
Please note, we will not be able to do as thorough validation on the emergency phone number as we are changing the intended use of that field to contain multiple phone numbers so users can easily provide multiple emergency contacts.

Satellite communicator contact information
It would be useful to have satellite communicator addresses on the roster along with contact information. This could be voluntarily entered on the member page, not publicly visible, just of use by the roster, similar to the emergency contact.
The reasoning: Unless replying to a message, a person's Garmin InReach can only be contacted directly using this InReach address. However, these are seldom shared among party members. The ability to directly contact a party member via satellite is a powerful tool in an emergency. Separated party members could communicate with each other. Overdue parties might be contacted. Additional contact would…

Limiting amount of text for "Featured Authors" on the homepage
On the books homepage (https://www.mountaineers.org/books), some authors will have a lot more text show up on the "Feature Authors" portlet. Can we limit that to only display a maximum of 10 lines (or whatever looks the nicest), perhaps with a "Read More" link to expand the text if needed

Make Activity Template's Activity Type a Multiselect
Right now we have a number of leadership clinics which we are having a hard time reporting on since they are categorized by activity type when really we want them tagged as both the activity like Sea Kayaking AND outdoor leadership

Improve Functionality for Overlapping Enrollment Badges
Today, enrollment badges work as follows:
- When someone is added to a course with an "enrollment" badge - they are added to that badge's roster and the expiration date is set based on that course.
- If a student is added to a course with an enrollment badge that they already have - the badge's expiration date is updated to reflect whatever the newest course's expiration date is.
- Once a student completes a course, the enrollment badge is removed. It does not matter what course originally created the badge and/or what the expiration date.
It is uncommon for courses to share…
2 votesGiven it only impacts a few courses, this is not a high priority. However, if this is something we can easily accomplish or can be tied to another piece of work that is prioritized, it would be great to have this changed.

Block members from seeing my profile
Similar to facebook, allow a member to block other members from seeing their profile or activities. This includes blocking:
- access to profile
- visibility of name on rosters
- visibility of trips/events/activities where the person is the primary leaderThis should override leader privileges (and possibly staff privileges)

Change Author Contributor Types to Match Onyx
The contributor types that the website can accept and that Onyx accepts differ. This requires the team to select a certain role to sync to Onyx and then change it to sync to the website. The reason they are different is so that the website contributors reads "Photography by __" vs. "Photographer __'. If we can separate the way that Acumen syncs with the website from what is presented on the web page we should be able to use the roles Onyx requires.
