  1. Customizing Branch-Specific Blog Ribbons

    Create a feature that allows branches to have more customization privileges over their branch-specific blog ribbon. Often, staff-created blogs will receive the "All Branches" tag, and a branch's specific blog (like an upcoming branch event) will get buried beneath other org update blogs (and in some cases, entirely removed from the branch blog ribbon due to the amount of newer content).

  2. Change Author Contributor Types to Match Onyx

    The contributor types that the website can accept and that Onyx accepts differ. This requires the team to select a certain role to sync to Onyx and then change it to sync to the website. The reason they are different is so that the website contributors reads "Photography by __" vs. "Photographer __'. If we can separate the way that Acumen syncs with the website from what is presented on the web page we should be able to use the roles Onyx requires.

  3. Add the option to have hosts notified by e-mail when people register for a lodge stay

    I would like the ability for hosts to elect to receive E-mails when a new person registers or cancels a lodge stay.

  4. Carbon Offsets for Travel to Mountaineers Trips During Participant Registration Process

    This feedback is to request that IT work the conservation and development teams to make changes to The Mountaineers website and sign-up/check-out process for all Mountaineers trips to allow registrants the option to partially offset their transportation-related carbon associated their travel by donating to a Mountaineers Carbon Footprint Reduction campaign. In addition to the donation ask, we would also like to allow registrants to share if they plan to carpool or if they will use an electric vehicle to travel to the activity.   5. Simple and Effective Feedback Surveys & Incident Reports

    (1) Keep it simple and quick to attract more feedback.
    (2) For instance, we could have multi-choice or single-choice questions on page 1 (change it to cover a bigger picture than we do already) and have a conditional page if people wish to add more comments/improvements if they wish to.
    (3) Separate the near-miss report and incident report. They serve different purposed and requires attention and follow-up on a different scale.

  7. Update Billing Info for Automatic Renewal

    The billing info associated with autorenewal payments is not getting updated in tandem with the user’s profile. Let's tweak the process to update the autorenewal billing info whenever the profile is updated, or at least give users the option to also update their billing info when they update their payment card info.

  8. Allow creation of email alerts for when registration opens

    It would be great if there could be an option for email alerts when an activity's registration opens and not just when it is posted. Sure, I can manually add the registration date to my calendar to remind me but it reduces friction to get alerted when I am able to take action on that information. This would also solve for the uncommon instance where the leader changes that registration date after posting (in which case any manual calendar reminder is rendered useless).

  9. Emails generated from email roster button should indicate hike post

    When you have the same people on multiple hikes and they use the "email roster" button to communicate with the group, it can be unclear which group they are communicating with unless that participant remembers to include those details in the subject or the body of the email. We should automate including information on which hike post the email was sent from.

    For example, if I get an email from "info@moutnaineers" suggesting a post-hike activity and I'm signed up for 10 hikes, I have no idea what date/hike the email refers to. I can look at the reply to but…

  10. Per-badge content hosted (securely) on the website

    As a committee chair and various leader, I would like be able to securely post content on the website and control access to it using badges that are awarded by my committee.

    The primary use case would be open/close codes, where anyone with the Open/Close badge would be able to access the most recent codes through the website. A secondary use case would be committee- or course-specific combinations for cages or lockers that could also be controlled via badges.

    (The underlying feature would be badges linked to RBAC for the website.)

  11. badge clarification

    make sure badges actually have a person attatched to maintaining them. Some of the applications are quite extensive and if a person doe an application for a badge and never hears back, that is very frustrating. Also, there are a lot of badges people can get, we should highlight these and celebrate, also each activity should know what badges their branch offers and have budget money to do award celebrations.

  12. course activities being moved to general members

    when course activities are moved to general membership, can an email be released to those whose settings are set to get an email when a new activity is posted. From experience, people don't seem to know when hikes/backpacks are moving from a course to general membership. People have to look for the activity. Is this a setting that can be fixed or is it more involved?

  13. Display Activity Start Time in Search Results

    Currently, When we search Activities, you have to select each activity and click on "Show More" and scroll down to the bottom of the page, just to see when the activity starts. So, if I can only able to do an activity in the afternoon or later, and if I have 10 results for that day, I will have to click 30+ times, just to see the start time. That is very inconvenient and waste of time.
    Any event search has date and time. So next to say 'Tue, May 5, 2026', it should say '8 AM'. This is a…

  14. Option to see password on log in page

    I recently attempted to log in to my account and when I typed in my password (several times) I got a message that my password was incorrect. This didn't make sense since I had not changed my password. If I could have seen what I had typed in I would have been able to tell if it was my correct password or not. I did a reset.   15. Customize email frequency for different activity postings

    Currently, website users can specify which activities (or courses, etc) they want to receive email notifications about as well as the frequency of those emails (immediately, daily, weekly). It would be great to be able to specify the frequency of emails on a per-activity basis. For example, a user could set their notifications to receive immediate updates about new climbing trips posted but weekly updates about new trail running trips posted.

  17. Update All Forms with Rich Text Fields

    Most forms on the website today use a Text field instead of Rich Text. For Equivalency applications and other long forms, this makes it difficult for the intended audience to read the submissions given all formatting is removed.

  18. Rate Hike Preferences

    I get daily emails describing upcoming Mountaineers hikes but for the most part they are too challenging or too long for me. I joined GoHike this year to find out about shorter hikes. I prefer hikes that are less than 10 miles. I think if would be great to be able to choose in preferences: Hikes less than 10 miles or Hikes greater than 10 miles/ strenuous.

  19. Notifications based on saved searches

    The current method of defining notifications is basic and, simply put, inflexible. It is possible to get notifications based on varies high level criteria (e.g. branch, activity type) but that doesn't mean that the notifications will be meaningful since there are many criteria that can be filtered on in the activity search. It should be possible to create search criteria and save those such that you're notified any activity that matches that criteria. This would save people time by since they won't need to manually filter the activities in the notifications based on this additional criteria.

  20. Allow markup formatting for Carpool Preferences notes

    The Carpool Preferences widget provides a "notes" section which allows for free-form content to be provided by the users. This can provide useful information for other participants such as the type of car, passes you have, expected reimbursement rates, etc. A participant may organize this information so it's easily consumed by the reader. The problem is that the formatting is only preserved when viewing the "notes" section in the edit view. When a participant tries to read it, all formatting is removed (e.g. newlines are removed) which can make it very difficult to read the content. This undoes any attempt…
