Course Activity Data Export Improvement GH3028
Investigate alternatives for the Course Activities Export. It takes several minutes to get the datatables view, because there are often several thousand records associated with the request. There may be more, but few options are:
Check how much overhead there is in Diazo processing of the markup? Avoiding that may be one reason that converting the main course roster view to be React-based helped so much. If that's correct you could possibly load this part of the page in an iframe that bypasses Diazo.
A bit off the wall... After clicking the "download" button, display a message (in a popup?)…

More Naturalist Articles
Wildlife photography especially is effective at stretching newcomers to the outdoors beyond climbing and running.
2 votesThanks for the suggestion. As a nonprofit and volunteer-led organization, all content is contributed on a volunteer basis and is a reflection of the interests and expertise of our membership. We do not currently have a wildlife specific photography group, however we do have an active photography committee which shares regular blogs about their trips. We also feature wildlife photography in a number of the books published by Mountaineers Books. If you’re interested in learning more, please contact the photography committee (https://www.mountaineers.org/locations-lodges/seattle-branch/committees/seattle-photography-committee) or you can volunteer to contribute your own wildlife photography content here: https://www.mountaineers.org/mountaineer-magazine/contribute).

Automatically Add Instructors to Committee Roster GH2511
When an person registers for or is registered for an activity as an Instructor, in addition to adding them to the course's team roster (if part of a course), add them as an Instructor to the sponsoring Committee's team roster as an instructor or check their instructor box if they are already on the Committee's team roster and their Instructor box is not already checked.

Use Only the Imprint Field for Books GH2942
When importing books, use only the "Imprint" field from the Product Marketing object in Acumen. It appears that we are combing the Publisher and Imprint fields to make "Publisher/Print" and it's looking a bit messy:

Tweak to Volunteer RSVP button GH3343
Having a button for volunteers to RSVP is great, however it's quite confusing for those wishing to attend the event even if there is a link or button in the text for them to go to EventBrite.
My suggestion...when we're setting up an event RSVP and choosing Volunteer instead of participant, it would be more helpful if the button it creates in the right sidebar says RSVP as Volunteer instead of just RSVP. The text above the button should also reflect that it's to volunteer. See my examples.

Now that can sell tickets on our website, we no longer need Eventbrite and the method to distinguish buying ticket (paid or free) or RSVPing to attend a meeting and volunteering for an event that are on the event's page are all this is needed.
See our Tech Update 4.3 blog post for more info: https://www.mountaineers.org/blog/tech-update-4-3-selling-tickets-to-events.

Create a Single-Pitch Sport Climb Leader badge ~WebsiteContent
A pathway to leadership for students who participate in the Leading Bolted Routes or Sport Climbing courses would serve to create a pipeline of knowledgable, interested instructors for future courses, and help to ensure that Mountaineers' high standards are maintained during instruction in future classes and on official sport climbing trips.
This badge would be distinct from any of the other existing climb leader badges, but would require a similar pathway-- leadership, WFA/MOFA, resume, etc.
2 votesCompleted · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedThanks for your suggestion. Last fall, we completed the modularization and reorganization of our climbing leadership structure. This new structure achieves a number of important outcomes: (1) Offers transparency to the students and equalizes the experience for all aspiring leaders. (2) Provides a clear leadership pathway where aspiring leaders can see a road map to how they can become a leader in whatever climbing pursuit they are interested in leading. (3) Provides early leadership opportunities, giving our members a chance to feel valued and develop their leadership skills early on, while they are also developing their technical skills. We believe this will lead to more leaders, and early identification of individuals who may have been overlooked for leadership opportunities in the past, thereby reducing the burden on our top leaders to run crag outings. We believe this will increase our trip offerings overall. You can learn more about the new…

Comma delimited roster email address copy GH2884
Under "copy email addresses" in the roster, could we also have two separate ones, comma delimited and semi-colon delimited?

Create functionality that allows the use of course pages to assign badges to students opting for the modular route w/ other system org wide
As courses create a modularized option (such as Basic Alpine), and where course and committee leaders use course pages as a way to easily assign badges to students that complete all of the requirements, a way to catch or exclude repeated rosters and data points across all of our systems and for the organization as a whole is needed.
Course leaders have requested the use of course pages as a way to more easily and efficiently assign badges themselves instead of the need to pass off to staff. However, this could create duplicate data points in our integrated software services…

Updating the Book Details Page "Reviews" Tab GH2889
Under a product page (e.g. https://www.mountaineers.org/books/books/explore-europe-on-foot-your-complete-guide-to-planning-a-cultural-hiking-adventure) there’s the “Review” tab that we are currently pulling from Goodreads. We now want to replace the Goodreads Review with the Reviews data in Acumen: Prod Marketing -> Descriptive -> Review.

Fix Required Input Needed error on roster GHtbd
When you are trying to add someone to the roster it often spits back a "Required Input Needed" error even when you have entered someone's name or email correctly. Fortunately you can just hit Save and override error message but its confusing for new leaders.
2 votesCompleted · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedAs best I can tell this was fixed with the Plone 5 update that was live on May 5, 2020. Please let us know if it’s still an issue.

Add a trip plan upload and PLB checkbox GH2824
Add the ability to upload a "trip plan" to an activity. In addition, we would like a checkbox that indicates if the trip party is planning to carry a PLB. The ability to upload a trip plan is priority #1, and the PLB checkbox is priority #2 (if it is not a lot of additional work).

Flag and ask about employer match in the shopping cart if it contains a membership or donation amount (mostly like we already do sans employer if a donation amount is specified) and sync that to Salesforce.

Fade the badge image (but keep on profile) when a badge expires
Instead of removing the badge image from someone's profile when their badge expires, it would be nice to fade the image ... this would show that the badge is no longer current, but it would also provide a better snapshot "history" of that person's past participation.

Emergency contact person - automated emails
It might be nice when a trip happens (not a course or seminar, just a trip) that an automated email gets sent out to everyone's emergency contact person letting them know that they're going on a trip and what to do if they don't come home. If they don't live with each other, I bet nobody ever tells their emergency contact person they're going on a trip. I don't know what the official process is, but maybe the email could say "Sally Smith is going on a 1-day trip today with the Mountaineers, if they aren't home by noon tomorrow…
