This forum is for you to share ideas and exchange feedback with Mountaineers members, guests, volunteers, and leadership. You may vote for or comment on any forum idea and will be notified of status changes to that idea. Your feedback helps us prioritize projects and improvements for our organization. We receive lots of great ideas, so please search the forum first before adding a new one. If your idea is not yet in our forum, please post it with a simple title and an explanation of your idea and how it benefits The Mountaineers. Please note that all our courses, events, trips and course-related activities have feedback forms so that you give feedback for every activity in which you participate. You’ll get an email reminder to do so just after the activity. If your feedback is of urgent nature it may be best to contact the chair of the committee that sponsors that program directly.   1. Make Header Only Toggle Between Publishing/Programs on Click GH2872

    With the most recent 3.1 update to mountaineers.org, the header changed so that it's "responsive" when you mouseover either "The Mountaineers" or "Mountaineers Books". In the past, you had to click on one to toggle, and now the header menu will change if you mouseover (either on purpose or on accident).

    As a super-user, this is frustrating because I often end up in the wrong environment on accident then have to revisit the header to get back to the proper menu items.

    Please change it back to swap only on clicks.

  2. Photo credit for leaders on routes/places images GH2788/2789/2802

    Give authors photo credit on the routes/places images on the website. Just small text underneath the photo to designate the name and year.

  3. Improve (Prevent) Header Switching When Viewing Content SD632

    As a site visitor keep the universal header selection and global (section or subsite?) header (The Mountaineers or Mountaineers Books) displayed until I choose to switch so that I do not have a jarring navigation experience while I am browsing the site.

  4. When an activity is pushed to a future date make sure feedback emails also update to the future date GH2281

    Right now if a climb is scheduled for May 1 and you have to move it to May 8 because of weather the feedback email is still sent out on May 2, the day after the original start date.

    We’re working obtaining an addition to our email marketing system that will allow us better schedule these kinds of time-dependent emails.

    It will take some time, though/ We hop to have this complete by late summer or early fall 2017.

  5. Promo Codes: Dollar Amount Discount for "Entire" Shopping Cart SD410

    As a site visitor allow me to use a promo code that gives me a dollar amount discount on everything in my shopping cart up to the total amount of items in my shopping cart that qualifies.

    This could be quite useful for volunteer recognition.

  6. Promo Code: Bulk Discount for Purchasing from a Series SD484

    As a site visitor let me use a promo code to get a bulk discount when I purchase a bunch of items from the same series (e.g. books in the Day Hiking series or backpacking courses/clinics). So we define "series" as any group (or bundle) of items of any kind (books, courses, etc.) that have to be in the cart for the discount to be applied.

    As a site visitor let me use a promo code to get a discount that applies when I hit certain prerequisites. For example, spend $100 get a 20% discount, or buy 6 books get free shipping.

  10. Add the Participant Result status field to the CSV download after an activity closes

    As an admin or a leader, I would like to see the participant result passed in the CSV download option after the activity closes so I can keep track of this value.

    It is currently on the display screen, but not in the csv export. Many times the course will be open and various activities will be completed, and it is required to keep track of each activities completion. Displays on the screen for activities with a large amount of students required more manual effort.

  11. Create a category of documents that are truly private

    Currently even if a listing or document is marked private by the creator it can still be viewed by ANYONE who is listed as a leader for any committee on the mountaineers website., except for member profiles. On occasion we create and want to archive documents and trip listings that the creator does not currently, or ever, want those hundreds of Mountaineers leaders to be able to see (trip postings that aren't ready for prime time, participant information for a Global Adventure that may include passport details, etc.) I'm guessing that few people who click 'private' on the status bar…

  12. Improve Layout of Bottom Portlets GH2806

    When we have more than three bottom portlets, their layout arrangement goes "bonkers." We'd like to arrangements to work like those in the attached example.

  13. Uncheck all email opt-ins when the email opt-out box is checked in Salesforce.

    Add a process in Salesforce that unchecks all email opt-ins on a member's profile if the email opt-out box is ever checked in Salesforce.

    Can we add a "feedback" hyperlink to the bottom of the books home page like there is on all the programs pages?

  15. Allow summary text to wrap around the photo on the front page of a listing GH2886

    Currently it often happens that some of the text of the summary for an event or seminar listing ends up covered by the photo. Can we make it possible for the text to wrap around the photo? It's very frustrating to have to go back and forth and tweak the summary text so that it isn't covered by the photo!

  16. Create online credit card intake form for credit cards for all rental clients

    Hey Jeff,

    I'm putting this here to request we make an online form that will allow our rental clients to submit credit card information and to authorize we charge their card for rental deposits and final payments. This eventually needs to be a broader conversation with Gabriella and Barbara because they actual do the charging and I collect the information.

    Benefits:
    - Reduced time in playing phone tag with clients.

    - Better experience with clients and faster turn-around time between inquery/booking/deposit/final payment

    - Easier to require CC information to be kept on file for deliquent charges or additional costs. It…

    Garrett: For security reasons, we cannot store credit card information on our local computers, local servers, or our website. This is why we have the “Organization & Online Invoicing” project, http://feedback.mountaineers.org/forums/273688-general-feedback/suggestions/17914396-organizations-online-invoicing-sd562.

    We can do it on paper, but even that is a “no no” as far as credit card security is concerned. Paper is somewhat acceptable, because the credit card information may be redacted or the paper destroyed.

    I just talked to Barbara and there is a possibility of using Acumatica for invoicing until we get the website project done. It’s not exactly what you requested, but it should help quite a bit.

  17. Add back grey line text divider line in rich text fields GH2427

    Previously you could add a gray line to break up your text in blogs and other text heavy fields. Ever since we launched the new text editor that <hr> HTML tag has disappeared - bring it back!

  18. Selecting from the Dropdown

    When you select from the search/suggestions box ("You May Also Like" section, for instance), it jumps around and makes it hard to select with precision.

    For example, as admin when I try to create a discount code and I need to add multiple items with the keyword "mountain", it is next to impossible to scroll and pick a tile that is in-between transitions.

    Another example is "Recommended Reading" on many of our content types.

  19. Fix time entry so that entering 12:00 AM (midnight) works GH2602

    Currently when we enter 12:00 AM in a datetime field, it is converted to 12:00 PM when saved. Note that entering 00:00 AM works, so this is the workaround.

  20. Improve Collection Portlet for Main Content Area Below the Title GH2263

    Improve the display of a collection portlet that can be display in the main content area of a page just below the title, image and summary. The portlet would continue to be configuration as it is but the display would span the entire page if there is only one (50/50 if there are two and 33/33/33 if there are three. Currently it spans only 33% of the width in all cases.

    This would allow our outdoor centers and other committees to elevate their blog content if they wish See attached a example.
