Stop showing activities that occur TODAY in the "My Activities History" section
Right now, any event I am leading today shows up as the first thing in the "My Activities History" section on my profile. However, this is (and always has been) very annoying, because I have to scroll down to find it. Due to recent (and welcome) website optimizations, the history section loads more slowly, so I have to wait for it to load before I can open the activity I'm leading that day in order to print the roster.
The activity I'm leading that day is the activity I'm going to need to access the quickest in order to print rosters and close it out afterwards. It's much more convenient for that to remain at the top of my activities page than for it to be down in the history.
I would think this should be a simple fix--just adjusting the filter that splits these out.
This is now live in production! Activities and events that are still active or happening same-day will now show up under 'My Activities' at the top vs. 'My Activities History'.

Also, the behavior is inconsistent for Activities vs. Events vs. perhaps other things too. If memory serves Events that occur "today" show in the first list where as Activities that occur "today" show in the second one. Regardless of what the final decision is regarding how this should work, it would be helpful if it were applied consistently across the various activity types (trips, events, clinics, seminars).
I've found the reported behavior annoying too and agree the change would be a positive one IMO. Also, on the morning of the event - by which I mean 4am, 5am, etc. - the event already shows up as "in the past". This is sometimes a little disconcerting when making a final check the morning of an outing, including large course field trips where someone else may have made a change while you were sleeping (more common for winter courses than summer ones).
Splitting it out by time of day seems unnecessarily granular. It's good enough for anything that occurs "today" to be considered "in the present" rather than in the past. Though there may be some corner cases where people are juggling multiple events per day, in reality most people at at most one activity per day, and it is "the current activity" for the entire day. Even late in the day of a trip, leaders still need to go to "the activity for the day" to mark the completion status of the trip and close it out.

Yeah, I though about that too, but we have multiple daily sessions and evening sessions of activities, so the three-tiered "today, future, past" approach seems like the better, broader solution to helps nearly everyone, if not everyone.

Thanks for the quick response Jeff. Perhaps if it just made the switch with a time comparison? So the morning of, before the trip is scheduled to begin, it shows under upcoming activities, and after that, it appears in history? I'm not sure how many participants rush home to click the "Submit Feebdack" link... I figure most reply to the automated email, but I could certainly be wrong. :)

Thanks for the suggestion, Travis. I'm not sure it is as easy as you think. One of the reasons activities are in the history section when they are "today" is because we want allow participants to give feedback and file incident reports right after the trip ends. Because of this, the columns are different in each of the sections. We may need three sections, (1) today, (2) future, and (3) history.
