Keep a Waitlist for Lodge Stays SD671/555/560
Waitlists for lodge stays are complicated and challenging both because of the potential for one person to make a reservation for multiple people and the number of nights for which they may wish register.
It may be best to keep a waitlist "separate" from the roster for each lodge stay and automatically email the entire list if any amount of availability opens. Then it's back to a first come, first served basis. This is a "notify me if space becomes available" rather than our "traditional" waitlist functionality.
Because of the nature of lodges stays--how many nights and how many people per night are needed/desired--the best way to implement a "waitlist" for lodge stays is the "notification list" feature that we just added as part of new features we added for events, primarily selling tickets to events.(Edited by admin)

Tacoma Hiking and Backpacking’s Baker Lodge Weekend would appreciate a waitlist functionality for the lodge stays. Right now people just have to check back often to see if there’s availability to sign up through the lodges page. If they had a way to sign up on the waitlist for the lodge stay or if an auto generated email went out to those people when a spot opened, it would help alleviate a lot of questions and confusion for those trying to sign up.

I know the mushroom weekend, our fund raiser had empty beds because with being the organizer of the event, I could not keep track of who had emailed me asking to be notified if space became available . Spring carnival is also a very full weekend as it the new years even event. The patrol race weekend is another full weekend. This year the weekends in February were all full also. We can not tell what weekends will be filled. Meany is experiencing better usage, especially if we have a dump of snow.
I do not know how the snow shoe trek and lunch handles the waiting list but that Saturday morning event is often filled. You need to check with Keith Doorenbos to see if he has any comments

Patti and Sheridan are clear that adding a waitlist function would really help meany lodge functioning. They've sent in feedback for how they'd like that system to work, and I'm supportive of whatever they want.
