Fix Rolling Enrollment Date Structure
Make sure that you can set up a course for rolling enrollment that then closes after the course end date so if you have 8 workshops under one course header for 2014 you can start over in 2015 with a new course and 8 new field trips that don't get rolled into one. This helps avoid huge course rosters to maintain.
1 voteCompleted at the end of December 2015 thanks to testing from First Aid coordinator Mary Panza.

Allow overlapping activities
The website doesn't allow for overlapping activities, for example two 3-day climbs of the same summit which would summit and camp on different days.
For example, one climb of a mountain could be on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and another climb could be Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. One climb thus summits on Saturday, the other on Monday.
Since there is no conflict of having two parties travelling along the same part of a route at the same time, the website should allow registration of activities that don't exactly overlap.
A warning is probably still in order since the trip leaders must make…5 votesIn order to minimize our impact on the land and on other users, per our Outdoor Ethics Policy, we do not allow overlapping Mountaineers groups unless there are additional land manager permitting considerations (that specifically allow us to have multiple groups), or the activity takes place at an in-town facility where reservations are managed by the facility staff. I’d suggest that you find another day to post this climb, if you want it to be an official Mountaineers activity.

Hide Cancelled activities from Default Find Activities View
Is it possible to add a flag in the Activities View that would hide all cancelled activities. It would be nice even if all cancelled activities were hidden automatically unless you set a checkbox to "Show Cancelled Activities".
1 voteWe just completed this. You’ll find it at the end of the list of filters on Find Activities.

Streamline waitlist registration for course related field trips
Right now if you are registered for one field trip but on the waitlist for another and get off the waitlist you are not automatically removed from the other roster. Ideally there would be some sort of notice reminding the person to cancel off their other list or some sort of automation.
-Submitted by Chris Williams1 voteWe added info to the confirmation emails instructing students to check their roster statuses before confirming the new course registration.

Have an option to display Learn items and Explore activities in one screen SD360
If I want to see everything going on at all branches for both Explore (activities) and and Learn (courses/clinics/events) in (for example) Sea Kayaking there is not a straight forward way of doing this. I want to look ahead and decide what in the Sea Kayaking world I might like to do and have it all listed chronologically.
9 votesWe just launched all of these changes:
As part of “single activity courses,” we now show the new “single activity courses” in both Find Activities and Find Course, Clinics and Seminars.
We have improved the site-wide search where one can find any kind of content and be able to filter that search on the type of content desire (e.g. activities, courses and/or events).

Change "downgrade" language
I suggest changing your language on membership "downgrades". Rather than say "downgrade", which has negative connotations, why not say "You have chosen to change your membership type". Using the word downgrade makes it sound like the membership type has fewer benefits or less value than another type.

Roster field showing members Branch
Many trips and outings are joined by members from all Branches. Once a trip is created, and the time comes for communicating final information, a field showing the participant's Branch world be most helpful to assist with arranging carpooling.
1 voteWhen we were chatting with many of our leaders and members during the creation of the current carpool system there was a strong consensus that people have the flexibility to share more detailed information about where they are coming from rather than grouping by Branch. We also were not able to share city with the group because of member privacy.
What we came up with instead is the carpool preference field which has 2 parts. One that allows you to pick Drive, Ride, Drive or Ride, Drive- Full Car, Drive- Have Space.
And then part two where you can say. I’m coming from Ravenna and prefer to meet at 65th St Park and Ride.
Anyone signed up for the same trip can then see this detailed information when they go to the roster and click Email Roster.
Leaders are able to see which city people are coming from and occasionally…

Donate via a foundation online
Donors whose funds come from a foundation cannot donate online with the current system, they have to mail a check via their foundation. One new donor requested that The Mountaineers look into a way to contribute foundation funds online.

Auto Save functionality needed for filling out online forms like Routes/places
Can we create an auto-save for some of the online forms so users can save their work on route-place and activity creation forms and come back to it later if they haven't filled all the required fields?
2 votesAll required fields expect for the title and summary have default values so leaders only have to fill in a couple fields before saving.
Pro ti! If you save your route/place and you navigate away from the page you can find what you created by searching using the magnify glass search field in the top right hand corner

Have the route/place default view as if the "map" tab had been clicked
When pulling up a route/place, there isn't much showing until you click on the "map" blue tab. Why not have that as default?
1 voteWe set this so the default tab for leaders is “Activities” and for everyone else it it “Map.”

Add an extra "are you sure you want to cancel" message for course cancellations
Add an additional dialogue box when you cancel from course that says "Are you sure you want to cancel" to avoid accidental cancellations.
3 votesThis has been completed. There is now a cancel link that does not look like a Submit style button from the Manage Registration window AND when you click that link you get an additional dialog box asking “Are you sure you want to cancel?”

Make land manager title a type-ahead field

1 voteWe improved all of type ahead field, so they are working much better now.
You can also add to type ahead field by typing the entire name of the new item and clicking on it.

Make Events easier to find
Events should be listed next to LEARN EXPLORE AND CONSERVE on the main homepage.
1 voteEvents can be found in the header on every single page of the website. The upcoming events are featured in a calendar box in the middle left of the homepage as well. We are working on improved functionality for events, including the ability to RSVP and see the events your are registered for, however we do not plan to add an additional menu item to the main navigation for events.

Branches and Committees self-maintain content on their pages
Allow Branches and Committees to self-maintain their pages. Committees can now maintain a brief description, but it is limited to text and cannot contain any formatting, images, links, or other useful stuff. There is currently a fairly long description for each Branch, but it is too static and, as far as I can tell, maintained by the PC. With more control of Branch page(s) on the club website, the need for Branches to have the separate websites is minimized.
25 votesCommittee pages have a new look! Go check them out and start adding content to the rich text description and summary. You can also create a folder and then create a whole new webpage with extra content that you can link to . Check out Tacoma Sea Kayaking, Olympia Hiking, Everett Scrambling, Seattle climbing as examples where some content has been added. Committee admins should be able to edit and committee members can now delete and archive content. Check out the Tech 2.3 Blog on the homepage for more web updates. Contact member services for additional questions about updating your committee pages. Additionally there are new links on the Getting Started pages which link back to branch communities and from the Learn menu to divert people to get plugged into their branches.
