Weekend Activities Filter SD502/503
Add a filter to the activities search so you can find weekend events only.

Hello All -
We are excited to share that we have completed this idea! A new filter has been added to all activity-based search pages that allows members/volunteers to filter based on the day of the week. This can be found underneath the "Start Date" filter titled "On...".

Calender views are great and would be appreciated. I do however like to point that such views eliminate the key information such as leader name, summary, registration availability, etc. It might get complicated. A popup when you mouse hovers over the event might solve it, I believe, in addition to keeping the list view. This calendar view I believe will be beneficial on my activities page as well in addition to keeping the list view.

I wanted to provide a quick update on this idea. The development for this idea had to take a pause due to other priorities, but is still in in the list of top priorities to be worked on.

Web site tweak:
Please add "days of week" to Activities advanced search options. For people who work non-standard schedule this would make activity searches much easier. For example if I work weekends, when searching for activities I could specify M-F so as to eliminate all activities on Sat/Sun from my search results. Thanks for considering! -

I'd appreciate a day-of-week feature for most flexibility, that would allow user to check boxes for each day of week they are available. Would benefit folks with non-standard work schedules that may or may not have contiguous days off.

In addition to boxes for the day of the week a trip starts on, it might be helpful to users to have shortcuts like "(Strictly) Weekend", for trips that fall entirely within a Saturday–Sunday span, "Long Weekend" for trips that fall within a Friday–Monday span, and "(Strictly) Weekday", for trips falling within a Monday–Friday span. That would be less flexible than a box for the day of week a trip would start on, but would be a nice convenience for a large proportion of use cases.

Adding a "day of the week" boxes to the "Starting..." section of the Find Activities filters seems to be the most flexible solution.

Add "Calendar View" to the activity search so that people looking for a certain type of activity but have time limitations can quickly see what activities would be valid.
EX: I am busy every other weekend and would like to look for evening scrambles, currently I have to go through all of the listed scrambles. Where if there was a Calendar view to the search results I would be able to see the available scrambles quickly.
