With the site search (search box in the header) anyone logged in can find other members and guests. This is how we implemented the member directory.
Remember there also the My Volunteer Profile and Find Volunteers (in the header’s “Volunteers” menu.

Thank you Martinque. I remember when the club used to publish a member directory annually (like a phone book). It was very handy for contacting members, looking up their qualifications, getting a headcount for the branch, etc. When we became web-enabled, we lost that functionality and communication has suffered and/or emerged on other platforms like facebook. That's a shame because it's much needed and we can deliver it now at a fraction of the cost of the paper edition.
I assume it would be developed with appropriate privacy controls so that those who are concerned can opt out of having emails and/or phone no. revealed.
