My Calendar SD411

Add a "My Calendar" page where I can see all of my activities on a calendar, or subscribe to an iCal feed of my activities.

    Having a calendar view of my activities would be tremendously helpful. Also, registration reminders would be very useful, as managing multiple course registrations can be tricky. Please keep me updated on this issue/idea.

    I'd like to be able to sync to my own external calendar (like Outlook or Google Calendar) so that I can see what I'm signed up for in the calendar I already use off the site. Kind've like I'm able to do on Meetup.com

    Emily, there is a (3rd party?) Android app that allows you to set reminders to register and add events to your personal calendar.

    At the staff level, we are struggling to discern whether the 33 votes in this category all want the same thing. The topic of this idea says "my" calendar, so we envisioned that all of the activities and/or events you register for will be displayed for you in a calendar view. However many of the comments here are referring to the ability to search for activities in a calendar view (that you may not have registered for yet). Since each of these options is their own type of website development, we need to figure out which "story" has more demand AND how strong the demand for each story is. Help us figure this out here folks! We have a lot of requests for future web development and we just can't afford all of it.

    Similar: Add "Calendar View" to the activity search so that people looking for a certain type of activity but have time limitations can quickly see what activities would be valid.

    EX: I am busy every other weekend and would like to look for evening scrambles, currently I have to go through all of the listed scrambles. Where if there was a Calendar view to the search results I would be able to see the available scrambles quickly.

    Even better - could there be a way to set up a registration reminder?! One of my biggest frustrations with the club is how basic climbs fill up immediately upon opening. In order to get on the list, I have to set a personal alarm/calendar reminder so that I'm online the moment an activity opens. Could this be built in to a calendar feature?!
    +1 to Dennis' comment below about a calendar for activities that I'm tracking/interested in.

    Hear hear on calendars for committee calendars. For example, a calendar for all scramble trips that I could import (one or more at a time). Automatic emailing before a trip as a reminder, or send a text. A way to compare Seattle's climbing schedule with Everett's scrambling schedule, to avoid conflicts during snow field trip... etc.

    Indeed, important calendar functionality is lacking.
    I need to add a calendar at the committee level
    I need a calendar view that merges all calendars I"m interested in
    I need a calendar subscription option so that I am notified before an event
    I need a calendar "sync" to that events post to my other calendar tools

    In the meantime, my committees have abandoned the mountaineers calendar in favor of the google offering which handles all of the above.
