Make Date/Time Calendar widget a consistent format GH3662
Across the site I have discovered that the date/time calendar widget is not in the same format (some have Saturday/Sunday at the beginning/end of the week; others have Sat/Sun at the end of the week). In general this is fine, but when you're adding LOTS of activities for entire program year it's significantly more time consuming because you have to pay closer attention to which day you are clicking. And, there's a higher likelihood of choosing the wrong date because visually it is in a different location on each calendar widget. It would be preferred if all calendar widgets had Sunday at the beginning of the week and Saturday at the end, but consistency is the most important.
This was completed as part of the website 4.5 upgrade in February 2024. https://www.mountaineers.org/blog/tech-update-4-5-bulk-roster-updates-practice-sessions-site-search-and-more.
Thank you for your patience and feedback.

Inconsistency in the date/time calendar widget format across the site, with some displaying Saturday/Sunday at the beginning/end and others showing Sat/Sun, is causing challenges, especially when adding multiple activities. The preference is for uniformity, suggesting a consistent format with Sunday at the beginning and Saturday at the end for all calendar widgets to improve user experience and reduce errors. https://www.catneedsbest.com/

The calendar date picker is a drop down control that's optimized for picking a single date from a calendar view where contextual information like the day of the week or fullness of the calendar is important. The calendar date picker should be modified to have Sunday on the far left to be standardized with other calendars on The Mountaineers website. This will help ease confusion among volunteers looking to schedule activities.

I just saved some screenshots to show this suggested change. Today, I saw the two forms (Sunday week start and Monday week start) were used on the same page. Multiple times I've posted trips for the wrong day because I expect Sunday week start.
Consistent format would be great and I suggest Sunday week start.

I'm glad to find this present since I was just about to post the same suggestion. Most calendars I've interacted with start with Sunday and end with Saturday. I've almost scheduled activities on the wrong day because of the calendar.
To add, I think it'd be useful if a person can set in their profile a calendar preference (Monday or Sunday start) which then carries over to all calendars across the site. That way everyone is able to have their preferred format.
