Link Green Trails Maps Purchase to Activities & Courses Listings
Populate course and activity listings with Green Trails map purchases in parallel with Mountaineers Books listings. Why? 1) Facilitate, encourage carrying hard copy topo maps. 2) Support Books efforts to recover lost revenue
Thanks for the suggestion! There are roughly 900 Routes & Places that need to have one or more Green Trails Maps added. While we do not have enough staff resources to update the all these Routes & Places in one “push,” we will work on updating them as we edit and add new Routes & Places.
We have the Routes & Places: Data, Statistics, Photo Finder Google Sheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cY1RLAmAG5674lJPwppzWYkRwyZT_PcmTHOcNwx3hAE/edit?usp=sharing) that can be used to find Routes & Places that may need updates. Though built to support a “photo finder,” all the field from the website are included, and there is a “Green Trails Map Needed?” field, fields for the number activities that use a route/place in a few different timeframes (e.g this year, last year), etc.
Feel free to download this Google sheet and use it to look for Routes & Places that would benefit the most from an update or two (i.e. ones we use many times). Please be sure to use our Route/Place Updates, Images & Resources Form (https://www.mountaineers.org/activities/route-place-updates-images-resources) to submit updates, and refer to our How to Request New or Updated Routes & Places web page (https://www.mountaineers.org/volunteer/schedule-manage/activities/how-to-request-new-or-updated-routes-places) if you want to learn more about our Routes & Places.
