Gift Memberships for Renewals
Why are gift memberships restricted to new members? Every year I'm asked what I'd like for my birthday and Christmas. It would be delightful if my family members could renew my Mountaineers membership. I get the benefir of the Mountaineers and my family gets the benefit of giving it to me. That certainly beats another tie. I prefer gifts which are not "things". I have enough possessions already.
1 voteLow Priority · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedThank you for sharing this idea. We’d love to eventually create functionality on the website to renew a membership for someone else. In the meantime, you can do this any time by calling our member services team at 206-521-6001.

Assign the Stewardship Credit Badge Based on Stewardship Activity Volunteer Hours
Once participants can more easily be assigned volunteer hours for participating in a stewardship activity (see Allow Participants to be Bulk Assigned Volunteer Hours, http://feedback.mountaineers.org/forums/273688-general-feedback/suggestions/41829865-allow-participants-to-be-bulk-assigned-volunteer-h), assign (or remove) the Stewardship Credit badge based on having 8 or more stewardship volunteer hours in the last 365 days (removing this badge if a person has it and their stewardship volunteer hours are less than 8 in the last 365 days).
1 voteScheduled · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedThe ability to bulk assign volunteer hours to participants to on an activity is complete *see https://feedback.mountaineers.org/forums/273688-general-feedback/suggestions/41870725-assign-the-stewardship-credit-badge-based-on-stewa).
We'll review awarding the Stewardship badge based on stewardship volunteers hours this fall to give leaders time to adopt adding stewardship hours for all participants.

Allow Participants to be Bulk Assigned Volunteer Hours GH3364
Our requirement for the Stewardship Credit badge is 8 hours of stewardship-related work which can be obtained many ways. We have many stewardship activities, but some of them only require 2-4 hours of work. To make this easier to track, we'd like to be able to bulk assign volunteer hours to participants in these cases
4 votesCompleted · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedThis is complete. Look for the "Check this box to assign volunteer hours to participants too" checkbox when closing an activity.
We're working on how to integrate this this the Stewardship badge soon (seehttps://feedback.mountaineers.org/forums/273688-general-feedback/suggestions/41870725-assign-the-stewardship-credit-badge-based-on-stewa).

Expired Youth Forms Notification
Youth forms expire every year. It would be super beneficial if there could be an email notification to families when the form(s) expire. Currently I have to go into every child's profile, check to see if their forms are current or expired, and then email each family that has a child with expired forms. This takes up a significant amount of time that I could be using to improve the curriculum and trips for our youth. Expired forms make it so the families can't sign up for trips; through observation, the families already have a hard enough time figuring out…

Portrait Photo Orientation
This is for the tech forum and website.
Whenever I want to upload one of the awesome pictures from one of my outings, I am limited only to landscape view. For some reason, the website automatically flips it to landscape if I upload a portrait view.

Add Pronoun Field to Rosters - Part 2 GH2887
We not only want people to be comfortable being themselves, but also to be celebrated for their identities and what makes them unique. In addition, we try to build a culture where we don’t make assumptions or pass judgment on each other. So if a person chooses to tell you their pronouns (in their profile or otherwise), they are simply letting you know how you can refer to them, without you having to make any assumptions.
Part 1 - Add pronoun field to profile edit form and profile display.
Part 2 - Add pronoun field to roster displays and downloads.

Registration Portlet Checkbox Update for Adult Courses GH2751
For an adult registering for an adult course (i.e. one that's NOT a Youth Program), display this text
The leader of this course has explicitly given me permission to register and I understand I may be permanently deleted from the roster if I sign up without that permission. I further verify that I have the skill requirements necessary to safely participate. {Request Leader's Permission}
if no application form URL is specified and the person registering is not a youth. For a youth registering for an adult course (i.e. one that's NOT a Youth Program"), display a checkbox with this text …

Display "Leader's Permission Required" and Registration Opening Date on Field Trip Pages
It would be nice if it showed up the page I look at and have the opening date like the climbs I post.

Activity Feedback Chart Color Scheme
Feedback Color Coding. The colors used for a Great Trip (RED) to Terrible Trip (Green) seem backwards to me, and should be in reverse order to the way they are now. Red usually means there's something wrong and green usually means everything's great Go.

First Nation Land Acknowledgment
I recommend placing a First Nation Land Acknowledgment statement on the bottom of The Mountaineers webpages. As an organization, we should recognize the ancestors and current stewards of the lands we live, work, and recreate on. A great example of this is already on the Braided River website/webpages. https://www.braidedriver.org.

Make Date/Time Calendar widget a consistent format GH3662
Across the site I have discovered that the date/time calendar widget is not in the same format (some have Saturday/Sunday at the beginning/end of the week; others have Sat/Sun at the end of the week). In general this is fine, but when you're adding LOTS of activities for entire program year it's significantly more time consuming because you have to pay closer attention to which day you are clicking. And, there's a higher likelihood of choosing the wrong date because visually it is in a different location on each calendar widget. It would be preferred if all calendar widgets had…

Lead Activity Again via "Single Activity Cloning" GH3234
To make it easier for leaders to schedule an activity that they've already led, add what is sort of a copy-and-paste/single clone feature and display on the Lead Activity Again button in the "Manage Activity" portlet.
This new "single clone" feature would:
- Create a copy of the activity
- Place it in the same folder as the activity being copied
- Increment it's URL as if it were made by staring with the route/place
- Run all of error and conflict checks
- Display the newly added/copied activity's edit form with any errors2 votes -
Add Filters, Instructor Opt In/Out, and Badges to Committee Rosters
(1) Add filters to top of the page--admins, committee members, position, leaders, instructors, badges and lookup by name.
(2) Add an instructor opt in/out checkbox (see http://feedback.mountaineers.org/forums/273688-general-feedback/suggestions/34126369-volunteer-instructor-recruitment-request-opt-in).
(3) Add four badge columns to the download so you can see course badges, skill badges, leader badges and instructor badges. And maybe a fifth column that shows all other badges.
Notes/observations:
Within Committee rosters, currently you can "Sort" members by group, but not "Filter" them. The "Sort" tool is not very helpful, as many members have multiple roles (Leader, Instructor, Committee member, etc). When I click on "Groups" to sort my…

Add Kilometres to the "Length Units" on the posting activity page.
We should have this option- we can post the km on the Pace. It makes absolutely no sense that we can't post the distance of the pace they are moving at with the same measurement
Maybe we should get onto the '70s and make this an option?1 voteDeclined · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedThanks for sharing your idea. Unfortunately, we need to decline this. As the overwhelming majority of our courses take place in the United States, where the standard unit of measurement is the imperial system, we’ve designed the website to work within this system. We do not have capacity to expand to kilometres at this time.

Link Green Trails Maps Purchase to Activities & Courses Listings
Populate course and activity listings with Green Trails map purchases in parallel with Mountaineers Books listings. Why? 1) Facilitate, encourage carrying hard copy topo maps. 2) Support Books efforts to recover lost revenue
1 voteLong-term Project · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedThanks for the suggestion! There are roughly 900 Routes & Places that need to have one or more Green Trails Maps added. While we do not have enough staff resources to update the all these Routes & Places in one “push,” we will work on updating them as we edit and add new Routes & Places.
We have the Routes & Places: Data, Statistics, Photo Finder Google Sheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cY1RLAmAG5674lJPwppzWYkRwyZT_PcmTHOcNwx3hAE/edit?usp=sharing) that can be used to find Routes & Places that may need updates. Though built to support a “photo finder,” all the field from the website are included, and there is a “Green Trails Map Needed?” field, fields for the number activities that use a route/place in a few different timeframes (e.g this year, last year), etc.
Feel free to download this Google sheet and use it to look for Routes & Places that would benefit the most from…
