You may vote for or comment on any forum idea and will be notified of status changes to that idea. Your feedback helps us prioritize projects and improvements for our organization. You’ll get an email reminder to do so just after the activity. If your feedback is of urgent nature it may be best to contact the chair of the committee that sponsors that program directly.   1. Make Header Only Toggle Between Publishing/Programs on Click GH2872

    With the most recent 3.1 update to mountaineers.org, the header changed so that it's "responsive" when you mouseover either "The Mountaineers" or "Mountaineers Books". In the past, you had to click on one to toggle, and now the header menu will change if you mouseover (either on purpose or on accident).

    As a super-user, this is frustrating because I often end up in the wrong environment on accident then have to revisit the header to get back to the proper menu items.

    Please change it back to swap only on clicks.

  2. Add Feedback Links to Committee Roster GH2939

    On the committee roster add a column without a header and with links called "Feedback" that are visible to admins only for each leader (so there will be two links--Edit and Feedback). Clicking on the "Feedback" link opens the leader's My Feedback page details in a dialog box (aka pop-up). This should help committee administrators to more quickly review their committee's feedback leader-by-leader.

  3. Salesforce opportunity acknowlegment automation GH2885

    I was dreaming about how to improve tracking donor communications and acknowledgements and came up with an idea.

    From a salesforce opportunity I would love to have the option to initiate acknowledgment and thank you communications directly from Salesforce. They come in two forms:

    1. Generating a thank you email to the donor directly from salesforce based off of a selected template (selected based on gift) with the ability to customize before sending. It is something I'm doing for almost every gift and it would be nice if this email was already linked to the donor and the opportunity as…

  4. Allow summary text to wrap around the photo on the front page of a listing GH2886

    Currently it often happens that some of the text of the summary for an event or seminar listing ends up covered by the photo. Can we make it possible for the text to wrap around the photo? It's very frustrating to have to go back and forth and tweak the summary text so that it isn't covered by the photo!

    With the moving of the registration portlet to below the image (a while ago), text wraps around the image now.

    Please do remember that images should be at least 400 pixels on one side (landscape or portrait orientation does not matter). And summaries should be very short, no more than three sentences. See our Publications Style Guide, https://www.mountaineers.org/volunteer/leader-resources/publications-style-guide, for more info.

  5. Create online credit card intake form for credit cards for all rental clients

    Hey Jeff,

    I'm putting this here to request we make an online form that will allow our rental clients to submit credit card information and to authorize we charge their card for rental deposits and final payments. This eventually needs to be a broader conversation with Gabriella and Barbara because they actual do the charging and I collect the information.

    Benefits:
    - Reduced time in playing phone tag with clients.

    - Better experience with clients and faster turn-around time between inquery/booking/deposit/final payment

    Garrett: For security reasons, we cannot store credit card information on our local computers, local servers, or our website. This is why we have the “Organization & Online Invoicing” project, http://feedback.mountaineers.org/forums/273688-general-feedback/suggestions/17914396-organizations-online-invoicing-sd562.

    We can do it on paper, but even that is a “no no” as far as credit card security is concerned. Paper is somewhat acceptable, because the credit card information may be redacted or the paper destroyed.

    I just talked to Barbara and there is a possibility of using Acumatica for invoicing until we get the website project done. It’s not exactly what you requested, but it should help quite a bit.

  6. Don't Show "Waitlist Warning" Message for an Activity in the Past GH2823

    To improve the activity closing process (activity end date is in the past), don't show the message, "registration has closed- please check your waitlist," when editing a roster record.

  7. Exception for seniors.

    Exception for seniors.
    Reference: BAKER’S DOZEN Offered by the Bellingham Branch, asks that you climb no more than 5 peaks per year to achieve this, but since I will be just short of 65 next year when I attempt it, I was wondering if an exception might be made for seniors, since we may not live long enough for multi-year attempts.

  8. Fix Required Input Needed error on roster GHtbd

    When you are trying to add someone to the roster it often spits back a "Required Input Needed" error even when you have entered someone's name or email correctly. Fortunately you can just hit Save and override error message but its confusing for new leaders.

  9. Add a trip plan upload and PLB checkbox GH2824

    Add the ability to upload a "trip plan" to an activity. In addition, we would like a checkbox that indicates if the trip party is planning to carry a PLB. The ability to upload a trip plan is priority #1, and the PLB checkbox is priority #2 (if it is not a lot of additional work).

  10. Course activity review tool for courses with 2-3 activities SD664

    Include some bulk review and update tools for courses where we only 2-3 required activities. For courses like WFA, Navigation or Basic Snowshoeing with just a couple required field trips/lectures make a roster preview and download that allows you see that a student is registered for all required activities and then their participant result and probably participant notes. This is probably exception report for a course roster compared to 1-3 activity template roster (on screen and download).

  11. Only Count Trip, Clinic/Seminar Activities for Guest activity limit GH2769

    We'd like new guest members to be able to sign up for courses that have two activities associated with them and be able to join for two regular hikes and right now the course related activities count towards your "guest count"

  13. Clone Activities (was Enable a script to create lodge stays and activiites in bulk) SD663

    As a member of the activity leaders group allow me to clone an activity so that I can more easily create the series of activities I need.

    Fields that can be different in clones:
    - Start Date
    - End Date
    - Registration Opens: Default to 9 am on Start date + 1 day
    - Registration Closes: Default is noon on the Thursday preceding the Start date
    - Leader
    - Member and Non-member Prices (NOT cancellation fee) if either of those fees is >0 on the activity being cloned.

    - This is similar to what we do for lodge stays …

    After an activity, the behavioral complaint form should be also be included with the safety report form. If a member experiences any sort of discrimination we need to have the path of reporting a complaint simple and easy to find.

    Thanks for highlighting this issue. We agree it’s a high priority, and we want anyone to be able to easily and confidently use this tool, should the need arise. We are working on inclusion across our organization, and are seeking ways to be sure the behavior complaint form is more visible on the website so it can be used when needed. We are reviewing options for improving out incident reporting system and, as part of that process, will determine whether it is feasible to integrate the behavior complaint process with the incident reporting process.

  18. STOP Allowing Registration to Occur Before Registration Begins

    Field Trips are full before registration date. Wtf? This makes registration dates pointless!!! As a new Scrambling student I’m patiently waiting for field registration to begin only to realize they are full prior to registration. Members are fine getting leader’s permission but should have to wait till the registration is open to register not before.

  19. Keep a Waitlist for Lodge Stays SD671/555/560

    Waitlists for lodge stays are complicated and challenging both because of the potential for one person to make a reservation for multiple people and the number of nights for which they may wish register.

    It may be best to keep a waitlist "separate" from the roster for each lodge stay and automatically email the entire list if any amount of availability opens. Then it's back to a first come, first served basis. This is a "notify me if space becomes available" rather than our "traditional" waitlist functionality.

  20. Limiting amount of text for "Featured Authors" on the homepage GH2795

    On the books homepage (https://www.mountaineers.org/books), some authors will have a lot more text show up on the "Feature Authors" portlet. Can we limit that to only display a maximum of 10 lines (or whatever looks the nicest), perhaps with a "Read More" link to expand the text if needed
