Semi-commercial glacier /basic climbs
It is very hard to sign up for glacier climbs or basic climbs unless you are a student. There is a huge waiting list for those non-students and it is hard to track. Then it is hard to plan ahead if suddenly you are being moved from waiting list. I propose to create structure where there will be opportunity for paying extra but it will be for members who graduated from basic or have skills but don’t have time to track various waiting lists and just want to climb. I found zero climbs for non-students. I would gladly pay to go to Baker or Glacier (e.g. pay $100 per each person so it will be additional source of money for mountaineers)

Thank you for submitting your idea! I appreciate the frustration you feel and as an organization we will explore how we can provide more open climbs within our dedicated but limited climb leader volunteer pool. However, it is not possible for us to apply any sort of fees to our climbs as the permits we acquire do not allow for it.

Just a note: There are currently a ton of glacier climbs already posted this year that are not specific to any branch or course, as well as a bunch that are only specific to a branch (not students).
For me as a leader, I do not want people paying to be on my climbs as I feel it gives the impression that I am a guide, which I am decidedly not. I want folks on the climbs to understand that they are a big part of the group and not there to be led up a mountain because they paid.
