Add details to personal notification emails
Many activities (especially climbing) have specific notes from leaders that the activity is restricted to a specific group within the branch. This puts the participants in disbelief about finding climbs to go on.
As climb leaders have gotten better at stating these restrictions on the activity page, having activity descriptions and leader notes added to the notification email would be highly appreciated by the member - so we can have a more informed decision to click on the link and reach out to the leader. This will reduce the traffic on the website and will improve the well-being of our members when receiving such emails with only a few that they could be eligible for registering or requesting permission.
Hello KD -
Thank you for submitting your idea! We have looked into your request but due to the lack of standard across all activities mixed with our cross-activity auto-email functionality there is not a clean way to solve this member concern via email. There is another idea out there in the forum that I believe meets a similar ask as to make it clearer what activities are specific to special interest groups or branches. The open idea is here if you would like to vote for it!

Adding additional way to help alleviate stress to public in finding trips that is open to them...
Since the trip postings, especially climbs, are getting very priority oriented and the trend appears to grow more into it. I wonder instead of hoping that we actually post climbs to the general public, instead understand that there will be trips for closed groups such as SIG members, basic students, or any particular course students which is majority of the climbs posted. And only send notifications to trips that are open to the general public. Leader permission is still useful for fitness needs, acknowledgement of trip expectations and such. Maybe this can be achieved by adding a field in trip postings to list whether it is for a closed group or open to the public who meet the pre-requisites. -

It would be helpful if notifications could be filtered by level of difficulty as well as by type of activity and location. Ideally, one could set different levels for various activities - e.g., easy for hiking, difficult for sailing, and moderate for skiing.
There was no "Technology" category for feedback so I made my best guess. If this should be categorized otherwise feel free to change it.
