Warning message for unrelated activity types tagged on activity listing GH1867
When setting up a trip, the trip defaults to the multiple activity types associated with the route/place. It would be nice if the site gave you a “warning” if you set up a trip with activity types that are different from the committee listing the trip or the activity template chosen to avoid having a ski trip show up in snowshoe and scramble trip listings.
We set the default activity type to come from the activity template only when scheduling an activity, and allow the leader to choose or edit the Climbing, Skiing, or Snowshoe categories when scheduling an activity. We also improved the display of activity type and categories on Routes & Places and Activities.

Good solution. Thanks, (there was another one this morning where a climb was added as a scramble)

We are seeing activities populating activity type designations that aren't representative of the activity. Ie scrambles are showing up in climbs and vice versa. This makes it tricky for students trying to sign up for these activities because they can't truly filter out the ones that aren't relevant. Please make it so the route/place activity type tags do not default on the activity listing. The activity tag that should default should come from the activity template. Obviously allowing people to add additional tags is good for outings like photography and hiking but the way it is currently set up is diluting the strength of the Find Activities search. Its harder for members and leaders to find what they are really looking for
