WTA uses a cool cluster feature on their Hike Finder Map- this would allow us to show more of our listings on the zoomed out view. https://www.wta.org/go-outside/map1 vote
I would like a way to search recently completed trips, so I can contact trip leaders for current route beta. This could be as simple as a checkbox on the activity search page for "Search only past/closed activities".1 vote
Thanks for the suggestion. You can use the “Starting…” section to find past activities. The “Start” and “End” dates mean "I want activities that occur between “Start Date” and “End Date.” This works for Find Activities (https://www.mountaineers.org/explore/activities) and site search (https://www.mountaineers.org/search).
Also note that our Routes & Places (https://www.mountaineers.org/explore/routes-places) have trip reports associated with them. This may be a good source of information from trips from more than just our leaders.
And of course you can search our Trip Reports (https://www.mountaineers.org/explore/trip-reports).
Set up a faceted search in the Badges area, https://www.mountaineers.org/membership/badges, so that badges are searchable and easier to find.1 vote
If both Start Date and End Date boxes in the "Starting..." section of the faceted searches (Find Activities, Find Course and Find Instructor Opportunities) are emptied, reset/resubmit the search.
It can be removed by clicking the date filter at the top of the search, but we also want the date filter to be removed if the date boxes are emptied.1 vote
This is fixed.
When I’m scrolling through the Activities and something catches my eye, I’ll open it to check out the details. After reading it and deciding to continue, I click the browser back button or the back to activities arrow. Either way it takes me back to the TOP of the activities page even if I had been at the bottom. I have to scroll back down to where I was – if I remember where that was – to continue where I left off. There should be a way to return to where you left off without all the backtracking. Is there a way to do that? And if not, please suggest the web masters work on it.

Yes this is definitely annoying, we are investigating.
Make it possible to search activities by co-leader or assistant leader, right now you can only search by primary leader.1 vote
You may now search activities and courses by leaders name for leaders who are co-leaders, assistant leaders or mentored leaders.
Add the course template name (essentially the course name with the year) to the activity search results so people can find the right field trip that they want to instruct at.1 vote
For those of us not required to volunteer for a class, we were more apt to sign up as instructors or for classes when the listings were mixed with activities. We search by date, not necessarily opportunity type.1 vote
We significantly improved our site-wide search so you may find everything in one search: activities, instructor opportunities, etc. You’ll find the search box in the upper left part of the header on every page in our website. View http://feedback.mountaineers.org/forums/273688-general-feedback/suggestions/7053736-improve-site-wide-search-sd360 fro more information about this improvement.
Is it possible to add a flag in the Activities View that would hide all cancelled activities. It would be nice even if all cancelled activities were hidden automatically unless you set a checkbox to "Show Cancelled Activities".1 vote
We just completed this. You’ll find it at the end of the list of filters on Find Activities.
Make it possible to have your field trip or course show under "Find Instructor Opportunities" even if there is no instructor pre-requisite1 vote
If it is necessary for us to avoid posting multiple routes-places and activities to the same trail, it would be very helpful to have the ability for users to enter a flexible set of 'tags' with the range of place names along the planned route that can be searched for to find other routes-places or activities going to the same place but named something different.1 vote
Lots of great updates have been made to routes/places which allow greater flexibility have been made.

We are also working with leaders to make sure that everyone understands that search uses the titles and summary statements so making sure that any alternative names for a route/place are in the summary.
And of course if you see a route/place that needs to have a name changed or added just email email@example.com
Right now the map view of search results doesn't show if you don't have any filters chosen, because the map view has a limit on the number of records (balloons) that may be displayed. Add the ability to filter by an defined area--two corners of a rectangle or a radius around a point.0 votes
Clustering is a better idea that is easier to implement and decrease the need for this approach to improving map search.
Routes/places have good alternate titles but they are not always coming up when you search in routes/places unless added to the summary or main content field.0 votes
Search button on maps when adding events is now just text, its hard to tell that you can actually do a search without the button look.0 votes
This is fixed! The “search” button is back!
When hyperlinking within the site to an internal page or folder, the search engine appears to pull up anything that has your subject within the content, not just the title, making the search very slow. Also on the scroll bar, only the up arrow works. The down arrow does not work, so you need to drag the bar down, which is impossible to do slowly, so you have to drag the bar to below where you want to go, then use the up arrow to slowly get to where you're trying to go in the list.0 votes
Be able to view mileage, elev gain and difficulty in the search view.0 votes
Multiple leaders requested being able to see activities happening through the date the activity is actually happening.0 votes
