It is taking such a long time now to post and edit activities, load pages, etc. I spend a lot of time waiting after pushing "Save" and "Edit" buttons. Sometimes, the system times out. Other times, it's not clear if pushing the Save and Edit buttons even worked. It is 10-15 seconds here and there, but it adds up when one is doing a lot of editing, posting, roster clean up, etc. Thank you.36 votesCompleted · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) responded
We just made several changes aimed at improving website speed, particularly for loading the My Activities pages and searches like Find Activities.
For the My Activities, the page header and current/future activities should now load immediately (worst case in a few seconds). “Loading” is displayed while the past activities are being compiled. How long it takes to display them depends on how many there are, but load times should be much faster now.
To view your My Activities page, you might also need to refresh that page. With all the improvements, it’s probably also a good idea to clear your browser’s cache and then reload your My Activities page.
Please add a comment here if you’re having any issues or if the response time is still very slow. And please include the details: (1) a link to the page and (2a) how long it took to load that page (use…
With the most recent 3.1 update to mountaineers.org, the header changed so that it's "responsive" when you mouseover either "The Mountaineers" or "Mountaineers Books". In the past, you had to click on one to toggle, and now the header menu will change if you mouseover (either on purpose or on accident).
As a super-user, this is frustrating because I often end up in the wrong environment on accident then have to revisit the header to get back to the proper menu items.
Please change it back to swap only on clicks.16 votes

As a site visitor keep the universal header selection and global (section or subsite?) header (The Mountaineers or Mountaineers Books) displayed until I choose to switch so that I do not have a jarring navigation experience while I am browsing the site.6 votes
With some new tools that allow us to automatically update a Google sheet from a Salesforce report and the tools available in Google Data Studio, we can convert the Branch Dashboards we built in Salesforce to Google Data Studio. This makes them easy to share with anyone who needs access without needing costly licenses.1 voteCompleted · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) responded

Allow Site Admins (i.e. Staff group) to delete comments on content items. So far we mostly have comments on blogs. This is needed for improved comment moderation.1 voteCompleted · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) responded
Presumably fixed with the Plone 5 update launched in May 2020.
The PFG "Save to Data" adapter view (see attached) make it seem to easy to delete the entire data set, because the "Clear Saved Input" button is too prominent. I think it would be best is the big blue button were changed to be "Download Saved Data" and we add a "Clear saved data" link at the right of the page.1 vote

In order to make application processes simple for the applicants, we need to be able to allow the applicant to hyperlink other documents into an application, which we use a rich text field for. these rich text fields are not accessible (or even visible) on mobile, so we're getting applications with blank answers, and the applicant didn't even know there were questions they missed.1 vote
Completed May 2019. We “fixed” existing forms that have/had rich text fields.
Add a process in Salesforce that unchecks all email opt-ins on a member's profile if the email opt-out box is ever checked in Salesforce.1 vote
Previously you could add a gray line to break up your text in blogs and other text heavy fields. Ever since we launched the new text editor that <hr> HTML tag has disappeared - bring it back!1 vote

Currently when we enter 12:00 AM in a datetime field, it is converted to 12:00 PM when saved. Note that entering 00:00 AM works, so this is the workaround.1 vote

To make sure we have the latest bugfixes, can more easily contribute any fixes of our own back to Plone, and are in the best position to upgrade to Plone 5.0 votes

Our website is built on Plone 4.3 which runs on Python 2. Support for Python 2 ends in 2020. Plans to have Plone 5.2 on Python 3 are in the works. To be sure we are able to maintain support and install needed security patches, we should begin the process of upgrading to Plone 5 in late FY2019 and complete the transition in early FY2020. We will get many small side benefits from the upgrane to Plone 5 like being able to have links in help text and importing events.0 votes

Currently it often happens that some of the text of the summary for an event or seminar listing ends up covered by the photo. Can we make it possible for the text to wrap around the photo? It's very frustrating to have to go back and forth and tweak the summary text so that it isn't covered by the photo!0 votes
With the moving of the registration portlet to below the image (a while ago), text wraps around the image now.
Please do remember that images should be at least 400 pixels on one side (landscape or portrait orientation does not matter). And summaries should be very short, no more than three sentences. See our Publications Style Guide, https://www.mountaineers.org/volunteer/leader-resources/publications-style-guide, for more info.
We'd like to be able to send multiple reminders of offered status and can't report or make emails that do that without a hard date/time added to the course participant and activity participant record in Salesforce0 votes
Now we have a single reminder email sent from our system with a “hard” date and time.
Email, shared and personal calendars, active directory for access to local resources (e.g. printers).0 votes
