Automated Notification about upcoming reservations
For volunteers that book a space at the Seattle Program Center, it would be helpful to receive several notifications in the weeks/days leading up to their event prompting them to check that all details/times/dates are accurate, or to cancel if the event is no longer happening in order to help decrease overbooking space.
1 voteThis is now live in production! Email reminders will be sent 30 and 7 days in advance of a Seattle Program Center event.

Display dates of Submitted Leader Applications
The new Submitted Last Application page is very helpful. Thanks.
It would be very helpful to include the application date in the information shown to volunteers. Currently, for example, there are almost 200 Hike-Backpack Leader Applicates dating back about 5 years, but they are all displayed in a single very large last that shows only the applicant names. It's possible to learn the date of an application by clicking it a noting the timestamp in the URL, but many volunteers are not sufficiently tech-savvy to do that, and it's necessary to click on each application individually in order to…

Notes:
- Added "Date Submitted" field to application forms and set its default to today's date. This data will be available to forms submitted from now on.
- Changed "Submitted Forms" buttons/links to be the folder contents view which has a "Last Modified Date" column, as close as we can get o s submitted date for the submitted forms folder.

Update "Congratulations on your new course badge!" Email
Volunteers and I are working on clarifying pathways to volunteering. One of our ideas was to modify the “congrats on your new course badge” email that is sent to course graduates. We were thinking of adding emphasis to instruction and other volunteer leadership resources to create a pipeline from course graduate to volunteer instructor. With the hope that they will consider other volunteer leadership roles in the near future. Wanted to ask you both if it would it be possible to modify the below email that is currently sent out to course graduates to the this updated draft:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lrRXmCqTQHNHA0vFPDT_X0F3dF2PeOzpT5gQi8glerA/edit.

Leader resources tab
Can we have a leader resource stab which could outline:
Master list of climbs
Field Trip Lottery dates
Shared resources like manuals, application drafts, graduation drafts, etc.
Many more things I'm sure I haven't thought of...1 voteWe already have a “Leader Resources” page with much of the information in this suggestion. Choose “Leader Resources” from the “Volunteer” menu in our website’s header. The URL is https://www.mountaineers.org/volunteer/leader-resources.
If there are resources that aren’t on that page, please send an email to info@mountaineers.org and suggest an addition to that page.

Add new brands on ExpertVoice
I love this perk and have used it 3 times already. My only complaint is that there needs to be new brands added on. I remember getting an email about a brand item only to find out it's not on The Mountaineers. How hard is it to add more?
I know we all like different brands so I would hate to loose any just want more added in.1 voteThanks for your note Vickie. We’re happy to hear that you are enjoying and taking advantage of the benefits offered through your membership. ExpertVoice has been one of our generous supporters for many years, and they offer discounts on brands for Mountaineers at two different levels: about 100 brands are available for members, and 300 brands are available for volunteers (who volunteer five or more days a year). ExpertVoice selects the different brands available at each tier. If you’d like to provide them with additional feedback, you can do so at https://www.expertvoice.com/contact.

Enable trip leaders to Identify Potential Leaders on a Trip
Currently, trip participants can rate trip leaders. Trip leaders need to be able to rate trip participants. Specifically, trip leaders need to be able to identify trip participants who demonstrate attributes of a future trip leader, and this information needs to be shared with branch committee leadership so they can follow-up with the potential trip leader and encourage them to take the appropriate next steps to volunteer as a trip leader.
When trip leaders close their trip or prepare a trip report, this new feature needs to be made clearly available to them so they are given an opportunity to…

Member Roles for Committee Pages
When editing the committee roster, it would be nice if we could select/enter roles of different members so that when we check the box to display that member on the committee page, others can see those roles.
For example, if my name shows up on the Photography Committee page, it just says "leader". It would be nice if it could say "activity coordinator and publicity" under my name. That way, visitors to the page would know to contact me for questions about those things. Limiting titles to Chair, Treasurer, Leader, etc. doesn't really tell people how we're involved.
There's currently…
11 votesHello All -
I wanted to provide an update on this idea and mark it as completed for now. Initially, we were hoping to change the committee position field into a more flexible field. However, there are roles on that page that are linked to certain website functions/permissions so that is not an option. In the future, we can look to add another field in the roster that could hold custom titles. Meanwhile, we have expanded the list of committee positions. We are open to adding more as long as they are relevant across multiple activities/branches. If you have another one you would like to add, please reach out to me directly!
Below is the updated list:
- Basic Chair
- Chair
- Content Manager
- Courses
- Equivalency
- Immediate Past Chair
- Intermediate Chair
- Leadership
- Member
- Outreach Coordinator
- Safety Chair
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Vice Chair
A few other things I wanted to add/clarify:
- You can make…

Add a "My Branch" Link GH1868
Add a My Branch link next to My Activities and My Courses and Programs on the short click menu when you click on your name when you are logged in to see branch events and blogs and stay up to date on all branch activities.
12 votesMembers and guests can now access their branch page from the My Branch link in their profile menu in the upper right side of the header of every page on our website. Now everyone the same quick access to their branch info as they do to their profile, activities and courses.
Please be sure that content on your branch pages, including blog posts and events, are up-to-date, because we anticipate this will drive higher traffic to your pages.

Allow Co-leaders and Mentored Leaders to be Notified of Participant Registration Changes
We like giving the Primary Leader the option of being alerted when there is sign up activity on their hike. It would be great to offer this to Co-leaders and Mentored Leaders too.
9 votesThis is now live on production! Activity/course leaders can now select for coleaders/mentors to be notified of roster changes in addition to the primary leader.
For activities, these notifications would go to coleaders/mentors.
For courses, these notifications would go to the other 'leaders' on the course (beyond the course primary leader).
The checkbox can be found under the 'Registration' section as shown in the attached image.

Sort Courses and Activities by Date GH1837/1955
Contents view of a Course Template or Activities folder apparently returns items oldest-first. This requires scrolling to the bottom of the page to find the newest (and most likely of interest) items. Please change to sort sub-folders first, then courses or activities by newest first.
Note, if not fixed, this will become increasingly more inconvenient as history accumulates
2 votesThe column headers in the “folder contents” view are now spaced correctly and you can sort (as you always have) by clicking on a column header. But the sort is only one direction ( e.g. A-Z) for now. The reverse sort now works as it should.
If you want to have a faceted search on any of your course template “Activities” folders, please send an email to info@mountaineers.org.

Measure what we care about at the member, committee, and branch levels. SD317
There are a number of statistical and reporting needs and desires that many people spend a great deal of time trying to capture. I would like to see us develop metrics and create "dashboards" that automate this data collection and allow us to quickly identify trends in the data that help us plan for the most successful future. For example:
Branches and Committees often want to know (or would be interested in): # of Leaders, # of trips being posted, % of closed out trips, #of courses offered, # of students in courses, # of participants on trips sponsored by…
10 votesCompleted Final Part Jun 2018
The final piece we want to have available is aggregate committee leader feedback. This feedback allows committee admins to enter an activity or course start date and see all feedback for that outing in one place. It also allows committee admins to quickly see Leader feedback in one place.
We currently have monthly dashboards being sent to each branch with information about the number of trips, courses and membership information.
We also have the member services team pulling trip statistics and additional committee reporting via requests to info@mountaineers.org. We strive for a 48 business hour turnaround on these requests.

Need more options to establish new routes-places without time lag
Many of our leaders want to wait for snow reports or weather forecasts a week or so before an activity before they post the activity, but the current process for centralized review and posting creates a time lag that makes this virtually impossible. Can you train and empower a small group of route-place administrators out in the branches to increase the ability to process these submissions more quickly? Considering the wide range in quality of the 'reviewed' routes-places showing up now, I think that you could set up a group of trained and accountable volunteers who would do at least…
2 votesWe have caught up on our summer backlog and are now turning routes and places requests around in under 48 hours. Leaders are also doing a better job of submitting content-rich routes and places. We’ve made improvements to the process, and more are on the way.

Improve Roster Functionality: Track Mentored Leaders
How to show mentored leaders on trip (perhaps leave as is but automatically make anyone whose role is co-leader or mentored leader and admin and add "show as contact" checkbox. How to show on committee roster. Probably Leader box checked with mentored leader note and a "short" expiration date. Also add survey aimed at trips with mentored leader (show this feedback to primary leader, co leader and mentored leader)
7 votesAll items are complete but one, and we added guidance for managing mentored leaders to the “Mentoring New Leaders” section of the How to Schedule & Manage Activities page, https://www.mountaineers.org/volunteer/schedule-manage/activities#mentoring-new-leaders.
The only item reaming is its own idea, “Co-leader and Mentored Leader Activity Roster Automation,” https://mountaineers.uservoice.com/forums/273688-general-feedback/suggestions/34067407-co-leader-and-mentored-leader-activity-roster-auto/. It is an idea that may or may not be desired.

Require Leaders to update their Waivers before listing a trip GH2429
Require Leaders to update their waivers before listing a trip. Right now this can be over-ridden by leaders which doesn't make sense since we want EVERYONE on the roster to have an up to date waiver.

Improve Feedback forms ~PloneOnly
Please fix the feedback form-
Under the overall rating you only give four options and there have been a number of times that I didn’t want to mark “Pretty good, I'd go again” or “Not so great, I'd think twice about going again”, but needed something right in the middle like- it was OK, but I might or might not do it again.
With the options given “Not so great” is just a little better than a disaster. We need some kind of “ho hum” option. Sometimes it isn’t as bad as “Not so great” but it isn’t “Pretty good”…2 votesWe recently reviewed and updated all of our feedback forms. We opted stick with four response options, to avoid too many folks “sitting on the fence” – but we did update the options to include a more neutral “it was fine” choice. Additionally, we rephrased the question/replies to focus on the person’s experience on that specific trip, regardless of whether or not they would go again. Please see the following example:
Please rate your overall experience on this trip.
> It was excellent, I loved everything!
> It was just fine, nothing stood out as particularly positive or negative.
> It wasn’t my favorite, there were a few things that I didn’t enjoy.
> It was terrible, I didn’t like anything! We also included some additional questions related to building a more welcoming, inclusive environment, limiting our impact on our public lands and clarifying any safety related incidents.

Setting the default role for RSVP's to an event as "volunteers" when appropriate GH2022
Some committees put their meetings on the calendars and people who RSVP are clearly committee volunteers, not "participants." If we could identify which types of events to do this with, it would more accurately capture our volunteer's efforts to default to the role of "volunteer" rather than "participant" when people RSVP to these types of events.
