Notify course participants when new field trip/lecture within the course is posted
Once a course is live, leaders can add new field trips and lectures to the course offering. However, participants are often unaware of these additions unless course or activity leaders notify them manually through email or other channels. The Youth Team is currently exploring solutions to automatically notify course students when new activities are added. This system could eventually be expanded to adult courses as well, reducing the administrative burden on leaders by ensuring participants are automatically informed via email.

Support markdown for formatting all input
The website currently uses a rich text to format all content on the website. This can be convenient for some but it can be frustrating and slow to work with. Markdown is easy to write and understand (https://www.markdownguide.org/). It has become a common option on many websites. Please consider supporting markdown as an option and let users specify it as their default preference so that they can use it without having to select it each time they want to post an activity/comment/etc.

Allow markup formatting for Carpool Preferences notes
The Carpool Preferences widget provides a "notes" section which allows for free-form content to be provided by the users. This can provide useful information for other participants such as the type of car, passes you have, expected reimbursement rates, etc. A participant may organize this information so it's easily consumed by the reader. The problem is that the formatting is only preserved when viewing the "notes" section in the edit view. When a participant tries to read it, all formatting is removed (e.g. newlines are removed) which can make it very difficult to read the content. This undoes any attempt…

Viewing profiles from roster on mobile
When clicking through a roster (roster section on the activity, not back-end roster manager) on mobile (android, Firefox or chrome browser), the profile display cuts off half of the profile, including the x button. I need to turn off rotation lock and rotate my display to close out (or hit "back" which takes me to the page I was on before the activity page).

Thank you for submitting this idea! You are correct that the user experience is poor for mobile when looking at profiles. I wanted to just call out how to exit that page in the current state so that you can use the work around until a change happens in experience. If you select anywhere on the screen that is not the pop up (grey areas) then the pop up will close. This is a workaround if you do not see the checkbox on your screen.

Add more details to Activity/Course alert emails
When a new activity alert is sent, it would be good to include more details such as summary, leader notes and description. There are many trips that are for a specific audience and it becomes tiring to click on all the trips and get disappointed to not find a trip to register for. Even if we can add a summary to them (as we now see in the find activities page on the website), we at the committee level can ensure the leaders and important info in the summary, especially if the trip is restricted to a specific audience.

Include the "audience" field in the activity search results
Activities allow for scoping them to a specific audience/affinity group via the "audience" field. In the activity search page, the audience can be used to filter activities targeting a specific audience. The issue is that the activities that appear in the search do not specify their intended audience. The result is that the audience is only known once the activity page has been opened. It would help if the audience was included in the activity info summary that's provided in the search results so that prospective participants can more effectively identify the audience of the activity they're looking at.

Make it possible to save trip postings in an iPhone without having to turn the phone sideways.
Here's another issue, albeit a small one. I can add folks to rosters with my iPhone but I have to turn the phone sideways to landscape mode in order for the Save button to respond. In other words, when the phone is vertical (in portrait mode) the save button does not respond to taps. Not the end of the world but seems odd.

Self populating cell meet place and time
Create a self populating cell that when you’re posting or developing your template for the activity, There’s usually several options to launch from, and the cell could populate on the condition when you select where you were going to launch from it tells you or populates the cell with the meeting place and have an option in the cell that allows for time inputs of meet time and launch time and maybe an option for pre-launch meeting time This would eliminate. This could eliminate the current meat, place and time box completely. Leader could have the notes in there and…

Allow us to see feedback given by trip leaders
Currently trip leaders post feedback on trips but it is invisible for us. Suggest to make it visible but like not editable. That way it is all transparent and we can see what is the feedback and can follow up as needed.

Delayed Send for Auto Email for Activities/Events
I like to hold off on sending emails until the 1-2 days before and the registration has been closed. These emails include things like my personal number, weather conditions, and overall serve as a reminder. Most people find accessing an email from a phone easier than accessing it from the website (and I don't want to include my phone number on postings).
Sometimes the ideal time to send an email conflicts with other activities (ie I might be leading a conditioning hike or doing a race the night before a morning run). To get around this, I will sometimes send…

Customizing Branch-Specific Blog Ribbons
Create a feature that allows branches to have more customization privileges over their branch-specific blog ribbon. Often, staff-created blogs will receive the "All Branches" tag, and a branch's specific blog (like an upcoming branch event) will get buried beneath other org update blogs (and in some cases, entirely removed from the branch blog ribbon due to the amount of newer content).

Allow users to add items to Promo Codes based on product/activity characteristics
Currently, items that are on promotion can only be added per product. For large promotions, this is very tedious as it requires users to add products one by one. If we could add a category of products to a promotion, this would save significant amounts of time. Example - Add All Green Trail Maps to a promotion.
