Make contributors other than "authors" be eligible for search GH3167
When we perform a search on mb.org using contributor names, currently only "by" works. We'd like to make it so that searches for all contributors (photos by, epilogue by, etc. etc.) also works in search.
2 votesThis was completed as part of Tech Update 4.5. Now you can search by name and all contributors will be considered. https://www.mountaineers.org/blog/tech-update-4-5-bulk-roster-updates-practice-sessions-site-search-and-more

On daily alert, display the day of the week GH3076/3077
The new Daily alert feature is nice, but it would be more helpful if it displayed the day of the week in the message. Most people are available only on certain days.

Pre-order/Backorder vs. Shopping Cart Clarification GH3072/3547
As a user, when pre/backordering something show me a notification that this process is separate from my other items (if I have other available items in my cart).
I'd like to see some sort of alert during/before reaching "/delayed-shipping" page that back/pre orders are not processed at the same time as the rest of the items in my cart. Reason being I'd like to avoid confusion during/after user has input all their information.
Ideally, is it possible to...
1) Check if the cart is currently empty (if so, proceed as usual)
2) If cart /= empty, perhaps an in-frame pop-up?…3 votesCompleted Oct 2021.

Improve My Profile Preferences View GH3064/3573/3534
Improve how a member’s preferences are displayed on the bottom of their My Profile page and to minimize confusion on where and how to change (edit) them.
Notes:
- Don't show checkboxes or data entry boxes with their “values,” because it makes them look editable.
- Remove help text, so that essentially only the field labels and their values are displayed and so that the view is more compact.
- Some of the “answers” will need to be “calculated” to make the view more user-friendly.
- Move items on the Profile Edit Form to match the My Preferences view (both…0 votesCompleted Nov 2021.

Pre-orders & Backorders: Add Next Available Date GH2991
- Add a Next Available Date to the Book content type.
- Add it to the Acumen-Plone nightly sync: InvProduct.NextRelease_Date
- Sync it to Salesforce: Product.NextAvailableDate__c
- Replace now hidden "Out of stock" text with: For pre-orders: "This book has not yet been released and will be available {Publication Date}."
- For backorder: "This book is currently out-of-stock. We will have it back in stock by next available date."
- Use it for "your credit card is about to expire" pre-order/backorder email alerts

Improve Universal Header Search for Books GH3048
Overall we need to better promote books when using the site search in the universal header when the Books global header is being viewed. Here is some data and an idea. There are more ideas in the comments.
** When author name searched their books appear too far down results **
When an author name is typed into the search bar often their books are found waaaay down the page, as is the case with these results when searching Molly Hashimoto and Heather Anderson:
https://www.mountaineers.org/search#SearchableText=molly+hashimoto
https://www.mountaineers.org/search#SearchableText=heather+anderson (Mud Rocks shows up but Thirst isn't even on the first page of results)

Improve Address Entry & Management GH2975/3062/3146
(1) When a user buys books or merchandise and checks out as a guest, use the shipping address they entered as the billing address on the page where we collect their credit card information. Or maybe it's better if we add a "Billing address is same as shipping address" checkbox above the billing address fields. This seems like the better, more common user experience.
(2) Add shipping address fields to the contact profile and rename "address" fields to billing address. Use the shipping and billing addresses as defaults for purchase for logged in users. Sync the shipping address to Salesforce.

More Naturalist Articles
Wildlife photography especially is effective at stretching newcomers to the outdoors beyond climbing and running.
2 votesThanks for the suggestion. As a nonprofit and volunteer-led organization, all content is contributed on a volunteer basis and is a reflection of the interests and expertise of our membership. We do not currently have a wildlife specific photography group, however we do have an active photography committee which shares regular blogs about their trips. We also feature wildlife photography in a number of the books published by Mountaineers Books. If you’re interested in learning more, please contact the photography committee (https://www.mountaineers.org/locations-lodges/seattle-branch/committees/seattle-photography-committee) or you can volunteer to contribute your own wildlife photography content here: https://www.mountaineers.org/mountaineer-magazine/contribute).

Allow Site Admins to Delete Comments GH2498
Allow Site Admins (i.e. Staff group) to delete comments on content items. So far we mostly have comments on blogs. This is needed for improved comment moderation.

Catch and Handle API Tax Rate Exceptions GH2919
As a site visitor purchasing books and/or merchandise, show me an error message if the tax API fails so I know how to get my order placed. We think the best is to retry a few times and if that fails use a fallback rate from site settings.
6 votesCompleted Jun 2020 by using a fallback tax rate for Tax API errors.

Automated email notification for people in waitlist x days before the course start
Currently some courses have lots of people in the wait list. Some of these people are registered in the wait list months before the course starts. If there is an automated notification to remind them that they are still on the waitlist. And ask them to cancel from the waitlist if they already have some other plans. Hopefully we will end up only with those who are still interested in taking the course. So we can offer the course to those who are still interested and we don't waste time offering to those who are already have other plans.

Activity, Course, Event Feedback: Email to Safety Committee SD378
As safety@mountaineers.org, I get an email when a participant answers "yes" to a "was there a safety concern or incident" question on a feedback survey about whether there was a safety concern on the activity, course or event. The participant's comments along with some meta data about the activity, course or event and the participant along with the participant's comments will be included in the email.

Store "Autopopulated" Data in Stored Incident Reports GH2705
When an Incident Report is submitted, we gather information from the activity, route/place, contact (leader), etc. to send by email and store in the data file. We also store the individual responses as content items and want the "autopopulated" info from the activity, route/place, etc. to be stored with each submission.

Add to Check to Feedback Forms for Incident Report Info GH2731/2732
When checking whether to send an email to the Safety Committee (for all feedback forms) and whether to direct the user to the Incident Report Form (for activity-related feedback forms only) after submitting a Feedback Survey Form, in addition to checking if the answer to "Were there any safety incidents or near-misses on this trip? " is "yes," also check to see if the "Describe the incident or near-miss." response in NOT empty, If either is true send the Safety Committee and email and redirect the user to the Incident Report.

Prevent Deleting Incident Report Data and Incident Report GH2609
In Revise Save Data Adapter View, http://feedback.mountaineers.org/forums/273688-general-feedback/suggestions/37329700-revise-save-data-adapter-view-gh2941, we made it more difficult to empty the saved form data file, but for the Incident Report Form, we want to make it so that only Site Managers (the highest level of site admins) can delete this form or any per of it and hide the "Clear saved input" link from everyone but them.
