This forum is for you to share ideas and exchange feedback with Mountaineers members, guests, volunteers, and leadership. You may vote for or comment on any idea and will be notified of its status changes. Your feedback helps us prioritize projects and improvements for our organization.

We receive lots of great ideas, so please search the forum before adding a new one. If your idea is not yet in our forum, please post it with a simple title and an explanation, and how it could benefit The Mountaineers. You’ll get an email reminder to do so just after the activity. If your feedback is of urgent nature it may be best to contact the chair of the committee that sponsors that program directly.   1. Virtual option for all beta and brew events

    Using Zoom for beta and brew events was great. Events that are live only seems like regression in terms of impact by driving, and time required by members (particularly those not close to the program center). I suggest streaming these events to allow members from the entire region to view, instead of only those conveniently located to the program center.

  2. Event Tickets Timing-Out in Cart

    The problem: Event rosters are not entirely accurate because if an individual adds a ticket to their cart and the cart times out, they are automatically moved to ‘canceled.’ Sometimes this is okay if the order of operations is such that the ticket times out and then after they register again. However, if it’s the other way around (purchase ticket, go to purchase another, times out) they show up as canceled where they should still stay registered. This seems to create duplicate entries on the event roster.

  3. Month/Week/Day View Duplicated at Bottom of Calendar

    Can we duplicate the month/week/day strip from the top of the calendar down at the bottom of the calendar? It would be handy to have it at the bottom as well, especially with the forward/backwards arrows so we can switch months when we are looking at the bottom of the calendar. Either that or an infinite scroll to go from month to month. Or both!

    Hello Tim -

    I was able to track down the estimate that Jeff received from the developers. It is not a large effort, but would still take a 3-4 hours to complete. I recognize that it is cumbersome to keep having to scroll up to the top of the calendar today to change months, but this is not something that in our current position would prioritized over new functionality/issues.

  4. Portrait Photo Orientation

    This is for the tech forum and website.

    Whenever I want to upload one of the awesome pictures from one of my outings, I am limited only to landscape view. For some reason, the website automatically flips it to landscape if I upload a portrait view.

  6. Note major jewish, christian and muslim holidays on online calendar to promote inclusivity and avoid double booking

    It'd be great if the online reservation calendar noted major holidays like rosh hashanah, yom kippur, Eid Al-Fitr, easter etc so that volunteers are less likely to schedule activities on courses on those evenings. This would go a long way towards building an inclusive culture at The Mountaineers.

  8. Link Activities to Event/Room Reservation listings

    One of those items that I would be interested in seeing added to the
    capabilities of the new website system, is for when room reservations are
    made that an option exists to simultaneously tie that reservation into an
    actual activity. I know that not all room reservations are
    Mountaineers-related, but I suspect that those that are related would
    generally be associated with an activity (I know that all of mine are so
    far). This would possibly help alleviate date problems (I just noticed I
    was broadcasting a lecture date as being different from the room
    reservation - which was the…

  9. Program Center Event "Add Activity" Buttons GH3550

    Make adding an activity at a Program Center easier by adding buttons on the event details page that appear after the event is published. These buttons will start the activity scheduling process for the appropriate program center route/place using the event start and end dates.
