This forum is for you to share ideas and exchange feedback with Mountaineers members, guests, volunteers, and leadership. You may vote for or comment on any idea and will be notified of its status changes. Your feedback helps us prioritize projects and improvements for our organization.

We receive lots of great ideas, so please search the forum before adding a new one. If your idea is not yet in our forum, please post it with a simple title and an explanation, and how it could benefit The Mountaineers. You’ll get an email reminder to do so just after the activity. If your feedback is of urgent nature it may be best to contact the chair of the committee that sponsors that program directly.   1. Add "CANCELED - " to Canceled Lodge Stay and Activity Titles

    For lodges stays and activities that are canceled, add the "CANCELED - " to the title like we do for canceled events. Events, lodges stays and activities are the kinds of items most often displayed on a calendar grid. Though canceled items are colored brick red on the calendar view, the words better explain their state to our members and guests.

  2. Add Total Column on "View Lodge Stay Rosters" Summary Section

    In the "View Lodge Stay Rosters" "Summary" section add a "Hosts, Volunteers & Participants" column that is the sum of the "Hosts & Volunteers" + "Participants" columns.

  3. Add family member lookup for lodge stays SD635

    As a logged in member i'd like to see my family members showing up when registering so i don't have to retype name/ages and this allows for better tracking in database of who is actually using the lodge.

  4. Lodge Reservation Dietary Notes Improvement

    The following is from Mary Ann Cameron, a life time member of the Mountaineers. She works at Rick Steve's Europe Through the Back Door. Rich Steve's had a lot of trouble meeting the diets of their tour members so they now ask only for medical dietary restrictions. This substantially reduced their problems and they have had minimal complaints. In the paperwork you fill out when you sign up for one of his tours the only question pertaining to diet is: “

    MEDICAL DIETARY RESTRICTIONS (things that will make you ill).

    Add the ability for people to sign in electronically when the get to a lodge.

  6. Prevent Recursion & Cycles in Bundled Lodge Stays

    [Kevin] A bundled night has a "qualifying purchase" and an "add-on".

    You should not be able to chain bundled nights together. This is pretty easy to fix: If a relationship exists, show it on both. The relationship should only be editable from the add-on item, and should be displayed in a read-only manner on the qualifying purchaser.

    Friday 1/6 (editable) -> Saturday1/7 (read-only)
    Saturday1/7 -> Friday 1/14 <--- not allowed, b/c Saturday 1/7 has a relationship already
    Friday 1/14 -> Friday 1/6 <---- not allowed, b/c Friday 1/6 has a relationship already

  7. Add a "Choose Date Range" Option to Lodge Stay Rosters GH2269

    Add a "choose date range" option to the lodge stay rosters (e.g. https://www.mountaineers.org/about/locations-reservations/stevens-lodge/lodge-stay-rosters). It would be like the choose dates we have at the top of the My Activities page.

    This will allow lodge admins to do a bit of end of season data analysis and recruit lodge guests for work parties.
