Add info to the "Course Requirements" tab GH1484
On the "Course Requirements" tab:
Stack the dates if there are Start and End Dates.
Add 1-2 columns that show the participant availability and status.
- Availability is either "29 available" or "8 waitlisted."
- Status is Opens mm/dd/yy, Closes mm/dd/yy, or Closed.
- If we have room for two columns great if not, one column titled "Availability/Status" with the info stacked should be okay.Add a column with the leader's name that is a link to their My Profile modal dialog.
3 votesMore information is now listed in the course requirements tab for all lecture and field trip listings.

Registration Date/Time for Cancelled Students should change GH1755
When someone drops from a course, update the registration date to reflect the date of cancellation. Currently the original registration date remains in that field. This makes is hard to track when individuals drop from the course.
3 votesThis is very difficult to add to our website, so we now send this information to our or CRM, so that we can help as needed with refund processing and informing you of cancellation status. Please contact our Member Services Team at info@mountaineers.org, if you need any help with this.

“Don’t Forget to Volunteer” Reminder Email ~Salesforce
Please create another auto generated email that is sent to folks after six months from graduation (i.e. have earned a course badge) to remind them to consider volunteering. This draft can be found under the second heading as “Potential ‘don’t forget to volunteer’ reminder email” in the updated draft in https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lrRXmCqTQHNHA0vFPDT_X0F3dF2PeOzpT5gQi8glerA/edit#heading=h.vz61m7xwxy0m.
2 votesWe have added a new email that will be sent to course graduates 6 months after they receive their badge reminding them to volunteer.

Hide Payment Pending from Add to Roster Dialog Box GH2755
Make it so Payment Pending is not a status available for leaders/admins to choose from the Add person to roster dialogue box. Offered is the status that should be used to hold a slot for someone in a course and allows them to process payment. Payment Pending is the quick status that someone goes into when they have 15 minutes to process course and acitivty and lodge registrations in their shopping carts.

Course feedback form should request that students name their instructor
Course feedback form should request that students name their instructor so we can learn from the good instructors and help the poor ones. Currently the comments are lumped together. Comments like "my instructor was great" and "my instructor was poor", don't do us any good because we don't know who they are talking about.
2 votesThe course related field trip surveys now include the following text to help identify which instructors may need additional support. “Could you give the reasons why you rated the instructors the way you did?
Please list specific names of instructors if possible so we can pass on the feedback.” -
Allow a course to have multiple course types GH1640
I'd like to be able to list a course under two categories. For example Winter Travel for Everett was snowshoeing and cross country skiing so should be able to be listed under both. Scramble leader seminars or hike leader seminars ideally should get an outdoor leadership and the activity type tag
2 votesCourses now can have multiple course types. THis lives in the course template and is particularly useful for courses like winter travel that need to be earmarked as Snowshoe and Cross Country Ski or hiking and backpacking seminars that cover both activity types.

Make course materials tab linked to course template rather than individual course GH1260
Right now last year's students can't see the current course materials. It'd be cool to have this linger from course to the next upcoming course so 2nd and 3rd students would have the most up to date information. You could have a folder that contains archive materials but this would be an area that is always up to date, or maybe you could have the option of whether your course template has this evergreen course materials folder or whether leaders want it on a year by year basis. Leaders and admins of courses any thoughts?
2 votesCourse materials can now be more easily shared year to year. Leaders can now also delete and archive materials from their committee area and course material folders

When you mouse over a course-related activity have it show leader/summary SD412
When I mouse over a course activity, display a "tool-tip/infotip/hint" containing the leaders name or the activity summary next to the cursor.

bulk course roster management
Allow course admins to multi-select students for the purpose of mass cancellation/roster management. Note: the multi-select is already there, but I can't cancel/move all the selected registrants.
2 votesCompleted 12/8/14. Look for the blue button at the bottom of the course roster that says “Change Role or Expiration” This is what you can use to bulk graduate people or bulk extend a student badge.

Move the "Apply" button ABOVE the "I have filled out the application" checkbox.
This is comparatively minor, but if a course has an application, an "apply" button shows up. The button appears after the text "I have filled out the application and received approval to register". (I am familiar with this for a Course application for Single Pitch; I'm not sure if it's in other places too)
Placing this in front of the checkbox is confusing: the checkbox is typically directly above, and used to trigger the "register" button. I swear I stared at that page for ten minutes searching for an apply button and entirely missed it.
Consider moving "APPLY" above the…
1 voteThis idea is complete! The apply button will now come before the checkbox in the registration box.

Confirmation email for rolling enrollment classes is confusing in some cases
Currently when a student registers for a course that has rolling enrollment they receive an automated confirmation that includes the following paragraph:
"This course is a rolling enrollment style course meaning there are multiple sets of lectures and field trips. Please make sure that you are signed up for the specific field trip and lecture dates that are available and/or fit your schedule. You should have received additional activity email confirmations for these specific dates."
This is confusing in cases where 1) the course consists solely of lectures or field trips but not both, or 2) the course consists solely of…
1 voteThanks for confirming! The email template has been updated.

Equivalency Candidate Badges
Give Committee members the ability to award short-duration badges to Equivalency candidates, to allow candidates to manage their own instructor registrations as part of the requirements for demonstrating equivalency
1 voteOur current system allows Committee Admins to create Equivalency Courses for tracking and graduating Equivalency Candidates. In the Equivalency Course Template, Committee Admins can designate an existing student badge or a course badge as an “Enrolled Badge,” which will be assigned to Equivalency candidates for the duration of their enrollment in the Equivalency Course. This allows them to sign up for trips or instructor opportunities that require that badge so that they can meet their requirements for Equivalency.

Registration Portlet Checkbox Update for Adult Courses GH2751
For an adult registering for an adult course (i.e. one that's NOT a Youth Program), display this text
The leader of this course has explicitly given me permission to register and I understand I may be permanently deleted from the roster if I sign up without that permission. I further verify that I have the skill requirements necessary to safely participate. {Request Leader's Permission}

Add "Online Classroom" and "Hybrid" as filter options for courses.
In this time of Covid19, make it easier for users to sort/filter by distance learning options.
1 voteThanks for this idea. You can already find all of our online and hybrid courses by searching for “virtual” on our https://www.mountaineers.org/courses/courses-clinics-seminars#c9=&b_start=0. This was not obvious, and we’ve updated the header text on this page to let folks know it’s possible.

Goal Oriented Course Sequence Training Plans
Hello Mountaineer Community!
I'm new to the club, so forgive me if this question has either previously been asked or if the answers currently already exist.
Would it be possible to have a recommended course & activity sequence plan that was goal oriented? For example: I would like to climb Mt. Rainier. What courses and activities would be best to position me for such an attempt, and in what sequence?
From what I've seen many of the classes act as stand alone training and education programs with some degree of overlap to ensure critical skill coverage.
Anyway, I just thought…

Only insert new instructors to course roster GH3157
When an instructor signs up for a workshop or field trip then they are automatically added as an "Instructor" at the course level, I believe this is new functionality. However, if that person is already set as a course "Leader" then they are demoted to be a course "Instructor". It seems like the new automatic behavior should only happen if the person is not currently on the course roster.

book recommendations
It would be nice if we could recommend books other than those published by the Mountaineers. For the Naturalists' annual course, they use a book that is better than what the Mountaineers has published. For the Photography Committee, there are really only two instruction books published by the Mountaineers. We should be able to add any book listed on Amazon to better help our students.
1 voteThe recommended and required reading sections of various types of content on our website are specifically for books, maps and merchandise that we can ship from our warehouse.
For other books, etc. information can be added to the rich text sections of the content item. For formatting and more info, please see our Publications Style Guide, https://www.mountaineers.org/volunteer/leader-resources/publications-style-guide#references.
