No need for leader phone number in leaders permission email
When someone submits for leader permission, I get an e-mail with information about the requestor and activity -- but curiously it has my own leader information including phone number.
Since I end up just directly replying to those e-mails, which routes to the requestor, I've inadvertently been sending my phone number back to them all. Can the phone number be removed from the requestor form? It doesn't seem necessary

Improve Route/Place Summary (aka Search Results) View GH3574
Given that our Routes & Places have grown to support a wider set of options and variations, and that they support both land and marine activities, it would be better to display the entire summary and remove the detailed info at right column in the summary (aka search results) view of a route/place. See the attached mock-up.

Allow Participants to be Bulk Assigned Volunteer Hours GH3364
Our requirement for the Stewardship Credit badge is 8 hours of stewardship-related work which can be obtained many ways. We have many stewardship activities, but some of them only require 2-4 hours of work. To make this easier to track, we'd like to be able to bulk assign volunteer hours to participants in these cases
4 votesCompleted · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedThis is complete. Look for the "Check this box to assign volunteer hours to participants too" checkbox when closing an activity.
We're working on how to integrate this this the Stewardship badge soon (seehttps://feedback.mountaineers.org/forums/273688-general-feedback/suggestions/41870725-assign-the-stewardship-credit-badge-based-on-stewa).

Improve MORE+ button
From feedback, it appears that many people fail to notice the "more+" button in activities, especially on cellphones. Because they don't see it, they don't read all the important info in leader's notes. The More+ button should be more prominent...possibly a brighter, solid color button? Better yet, how about all the info about the trip expanded so it's never missed?
1 voteCompleted · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedCompleted Jun 2022. As part of adding features for our events system, we moved the MORE+ button to the left, so it's easier to see.

In addition to Leave no Trace consider As an Outdoor Ambassador, removing traces left by others
Not unusual to see some trash on the trail or campsite. Be a good steward, pick it up and pack it out. Consider always carrying a trash bag in your pack for this. It often only takes a few seconds to pick it up. Help keep the outdoors pristine! :)
1 voteCompleted · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedThanks for sharing your idea. We agree that people should be good stewards of our natural places. In addition to sharing the principles of Leave No Trace as part of our Outdoor Ambassador program, we also regularly share responsible recreation tips with our community on our website, in our emails, and on social media. Most of our courses teach the “campsite rule”, to leave a place better than you found it, and many of our course students are required to complete eight hours of stewardship credit to graduate. For our latest resource, visit our blog from September 25, 2020, highlighting Leave No Trace tips for new hikers: https://www.mountaineers.org/blog/leave-no-trace-tips-for-new-hikers.

On daily alert, display the day of the week GH3076/3077
The new Daily alert feature is nice, but it would be more helpful if it displayed the day of the week in the message. Most people are available only on certain days.

Alerts & Notifications "Leave Blank for All Branches" GH3015
For the "Branches" field change it so that leaving it blank is the same as having selected all of the branches in the list.
Change the help text for Branches to: With these branches... (leave blank to choose all branches)
Change the help text for Activities to: Of these types... (choose at least one to get notifications)

It would help if when the leader enters a Routes and Places title that was previously a designated trail in planning a future trip if it clearly shows this trail is still included under a different route/place name
1 voteWe already have this capability. Thee are two places where we can indicate alternate titles, the Summary and the Title tab. Examples of each of these to this suggestion form Mount Olympus/Blue Glacier, https://www.mountaineers.org/activities/routes-places/mount-olympus-blue-glacier.
Also, the text in the Summary field and the titles in the Titles tab are indexed and used to rank results high in search results, so it should be easy to find Routes & Places by any of its alternate titles or words from the Summary.
If there are specific Routes & Places where we need to improve the Summary to indicate all of the options and variations for a route, or we need to add titles to the alternate titles list, please use the Route/Place Updates, Images & Resources Form, https://www.mountaineers.org/activities/route-place-updates-images-resources.
If you find an activity you led in the past on your My Activities page, you can find the route/place in that…

Default "Summary" section for educational activities GH2923
Use the summary section that has been entered into the activity template for clinics, seminars, lectures, and field trips as the default once you have selected the appropriate template. Right now, summary sections are written up in the template, but they don't automatically populate in the activity listing.

Create a Single-Pitch Sport Climb Leader badge ~WebsiteContent
A pathway to leadership for students who participate in the Leading Bolted Routes or Sport Climbing courses would serve to create a pipeline of knowledgable, interested instructors for future courses, and help to ensure that Mountaineers' high standards are maintained during instruction in future classes and on official sport climbing trips.
This badge would be distinct from any of the other existing climb leader badges, but would require a similar pathway-- leadership, WFA/MOFA, resume, etc.
2 votesCompleted · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedThanks for your suggestion. Last fall, we completed the modularization and reorganization of our climbing leadership structure. This new structure achieves a number of important outcomes: (1) Offers transparency to the students and equalizes the experience for all aspiring leaders. (2) Provides a clear leadership pathway where aspiring leaders can see a road map to how they can become a leader in whatever climbing pursuit they are interested in leading. (3) Provides early leadership opportunities, giving our members a chance to feel valued and develop their leadership skills early on, while they are also developing their technical skills. We believe this will lead to more leaders, and early identification of individuals who may have been overlooked for leadership opportunities in the past, thereby reducing the burden on our top leaders to run crag outings. We believe this will increase our trip offerings overall. You can learn more about the new…

Fix Required Input Needed error on roster GHtbd
When you are trying to add someone to the roster it often spits back a "Required Input Needed" error even when you have entered someone's name or email correctly. Fortunately you can just hit Save and override error message but its confusing for new leaders.
2 votesCompleted · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedAs best I can tell this was fixed with the Plone 5 update that was live on May 5, 2020. Please let us know if it’s still an issue.

STOP Allowing Registration to Occur Before Registration Begins
Field Trips are full before registration date. Wtf? This makes registration dates pointless!!! As a new Scrambling student I’m patiently waiting for field registration to begin only to realize they are full prior to registration. Members are fine getting leader’s permission but should have to wait till the registration is open to register not before.
4 votesCompleted · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedWe provide leader training in our new leader orientation and leadership development programs, in our online resources, and in our Leader Lines email newsletter to address this issue.

Remove "Getting Started Series" from the Activity Leader Rating GH2781
It's confusing to see "Getting Started Series" in the activity search results as an option when we no longer have a formal "Getting Started Series" program.
7 votesCompleted · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedComplete Jun 2022. We removed the "For Beginners (Getting Started Series)" item from the Leader Rating List. Future activities with this rating were changed to "Casual."

Please create two "outdoor leadership" activity types ~Salesforce
In order to track what the mountaineers does in terms of outdoor leadership, we would like two activity types:
Leader Development - Leadership Skills
Leader Development - Technical SkillsBelow is the email thread for background:
Here’s a really quick stab at some language, for nothing else than to give us something to edit:Leadership Skills
- May or may not be activity-specific.
- May or may not have a focus on outdoor leadership.- Emphasis on facilitation, instruction, and/or group leadership.
Technical Skills
- Activity-specific.
- Skill development in activity that this person leads or aspires to lead. (Not…7 votesCompleted Feb 2019

Need a way to mark courses/events/activities as led by staff vs. volunteers GH2707
Right now its getting difficult to report volunteer contributions for recognition and annual reporting versus staff contributions.
2 votesCompleted · AdminJeff Bowman (Associate Director of Information Technology, The Mountaineers) respondedA long time coming, but this is finally complete. The Activity, Course, and Event edit forms now all have a “Led by Staff” checkbox that is synced to Salesforce. Sara and decided that we do not need the history, and getting it accurately seemed nearly impossible, given that most of us have led as both staff and a volunteer.

Youth Registration Checkbox for Activities GH2750

The youth registrant meets the age and skill requirements and has permission to participate in this activity. <a href="/activities/request-leaders-permission?surveyed-object-uid={PloneUID}">Request Leader's Permission</a>"
