Leader permission (backpacking)

You'll see that many of these trips have no prerequisites but do require leader's permission. That sounds more intimidating than it actually is! Basically, the leaders just need to know they are not taking on extra liability by allowing you to join in good faith. Describe your prior experience, gear setup, and fitness level fully; make sure to request permission clearly and early; and don't register for the trip until you have heard back from the leader! I'm including a link to best practices when requesting leader permission. Let me know if I can answer any other questions, and I hope that you're able to join a trip and get outdoors very soon!
