provide way for all participants to provide feedback on the trip
Need to gather feedback from every participant on every trip, not just the leaders. Have 3 or 4 questions to rate (1 to 5) and ask if a safety incident occurred (safety committee idea). We should not be afraid of feedback but actively solicit in order to make our activities better. This will help us understand what makes a great outing and what makes a poor outing so we can adjust our training or offerings.

Change the word "Fail" for credit assignment if a trip turns around
If a trip is for credit and the group turns around for safety or legitamite reasons, in the profile the word "Fail" shows up under Credit assignment. Change simply to "No Credit" or something less draconian.

Trip reports
Have a place to submit and view TRs, sorted by category (ice climbing, rock etc), and enable a view counter on each TR (much like cascadeclimbers.com) so people can see activity levels even if noone replies and comments on the TR - helps to build community and interest in submitting and view TRs

allow basics to access previous trip reports.
If "everyone is a leader" and all climb participants are expected to know the route and conditions, it only makes sense to make these available to everyone on a climb - not just the leaders.

incident report template
Many of the incidents that are reported do not provide relevant detail. Suggest we provide a few pre-populated items to fill in. Here are two suggested things to ask for.

For trip leaders - download relevant information so they can copy easily
Resurecting idea that was recommended by 2010 safety commmttee and volunteer support committee. Make an easy download of currently available information so leader can copy and paste into an email or pre trip report. Currently leader has to download from a couple of locations. Put in a text file for easy copying. Provide trip description, dates, leader notes, as then for each participant, name, phone #'s, emergency contact, city. Again, this information is currently available, but must be downloaded or copied separately. This will facilitate better pre-trip information gathering and leaving a better note behind for emergency contacts, and be…

create a travel time area in the trip reports area
Create an area in the trip reports section for departure time, travel time from trailhead to camp/summit and return. There were fields to enter this information in the previous database.

On the incident email report, add link to trip report
From safety committee, on the safety incident reports, add a link to the actual trip report so safety committee can see the other details of the report. Not sure if feasible, but idea from the safety committee.

View complete destination details
When you select a future trip from your Profile's Upcoming Activities, the trip listing has a link at the top for "View complete destination details". It would be nice if this same link appeared at the top of trip listings when pulled up from the main Activity Search. (That is, it would be nice if "viewTrip.cfm" displayed the "View complete destination details" link even when the variable "source=pop" is passed in).
